Pierre (Romain Duris, The Beat That My Heart Skipped), a professional dancer, finds himself in a quandary when a potentially fatal heart problem forces him to quit his work. Turning to his sister Elise (Academy Award Winner Juliette Binoche) for help, his condition causes him to look at himself and those around him in a new light. Soon Pierre starts to discover how much better life can be when you fear it might be leaving you behind.

Paul returns to his family, depressed and suicidal after the break-up of his marriage, to live with his divorced father and amorous younger brother. While his carefree sibling and doting father try in vain to cheer him up, a visit from his aloof mother seems to be the only thing that brings him joy.
