John Barrowman and Stephen Amell
With the Undertaking drawing near, Oliver is in the worst place he could be to save The Glades: Malcolm Merlyn's captivity.
In Arrow's penultimate episode, Oliver (Stephen Amell) set his sights on Malcolm (John Barrowman), unaware that his former best friend's father is actually the Dark Archer who once defeated him. Now, make that twice. Will Oliver be able to free himself from Merlyn and stop the Dark Archer's evil plans of leveling The Glades? TVGuide.com turned to executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg for an in-depth interview on the finale, including Oliver and Laurel's (Katie Cassidy) future, a new side of Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and a Thea (Willa Holland) moment that may make fanboys happy:
Long before she met her Prince Charming in a man named Mr. Big, Carrie Bradshaw's adolescent life was still something of a swoon-inducing Cinderella story. That's the first impression from the CW's new The Carrie Diaries (8/7c, repeated an hour later), a likeably schmaltzy "prequel" to Sex and the City that finds the CW hewing closely to the ABC Family model that has lately stolen much of the channel's young-adult thunder.
For longtime Green Arrow fans, an exclusive 10-page preview comic of the new CW series Arrow (starring Stephen Amell) will be the keepsake giveaway from this year's Comic-Con. "It's almost like a little mini episode after the pilot but before the next episode," explains Andrew Kreisberg, who cowrote the story with his fellow Arrow exec producers, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, along with comics superstar Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment's chief creative officer. (The cover was penciled by legendary artist Mike Grell, with colors by Randy Mayor; interior art was provided by Omar Francia.)
Question: Why did 24 kill off Curtis?
Answer: The same reason they killed off Edgar, Michelle, Tony and President Palmer last season: to raise the stakes! If you haven't already done so, check out my exclusive video interview/postmortem with Roger Cross at Monday's Globes. He had some interesting things to say about Curtis' swan song.
