Do you know why Col. Glenn Talbot is joining Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.— Pauley
With Coulson & Co. on the run, Talbot will be tasked with tracking them down. And it doesn't sound like he has friendly plans for our heroes should he catch them. "Longtime Marvel fans know that he's been a nemesis to anything that's organized," executive producer Jeph Loeb tells me. "I love the fact that [Adrian Pasdarreferred to him as a world-class jerk. Zombies, Power Outages, Global Pandemics: Why TV Is Embracing the Apocalypse

The Walking Dead

If it's the end of the world as we know it, TV feels fine. Led by shows including AMC's The Walking Dead, TNT's Falling Skies and NBC's Revolution, postapocalyptic TV is blowing up — and a lot more of it is on the way.

"There's a huge appeal right at the moment," says Revolution executive producer Rockne S. O'Bannon. Among the upcoming shows that revolve around a dystopian future: The CW's The 100 (debuting Wed., March 19, at 9/8c), which follows a group of juvenile delinquents who are shipped from a space station back to Earth in order to see whether it's inhabitable a century after a nuclear holocaust. (The network also just ordered a pilot for The Messengers, about a group of people who are killed, then resurrected, after something crashes into Earth.)

In July comes FX's The Strain — created by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, and executive produced by Lost's Carlton Cuse — which stars Corey Stoll (House of Cards) as an epidemiologist charged with preventing a mysterious viral outbreak from destroying humanity. Also this summer... read more

Cult Producers on Show's Confusing Plot: We Have Faith the Audience Will Follow Along

Matt Davis as Jeff and Jessica Lucas

Can a meta show be too meta? The creator of Cult, which features a show within the show, hopes that answer is no.

The new CW series stars Vampire Diaries alum Matt Davis as Jeff, a journalist who is prompted to investigate the rabid fans of a show called Cult when his brother goes missing. Jessica Lucas plays an inquisitive production assistant on the show whom he teams up with during his search. The series leads viewers to sometimes question if they're watching the "inside" show -- which stars Robert Knepper as cult leader Billy Grimm and Alona Tal as the cop searching for him --or the "outside" show which follows Jeff. The executive producer of the inside show, Stephen Rae, is also mysteriously labeled as the executive producer of the outside show that the audience is watching.
