How on earth can Robert Blecker and Daryl Holton be friends? That question pulses at the center of Robert Blecker Wants Me Dead, a surprising and often disturbing documentary film about passion, murder, and the American death penalty Robert Blecker is one of America s most impassioned crusaders for capital punishment. A self-described 'emotive retributivist,' Blecker teaches at the New York Law School in lower Manhattan. From those unlikely headquarters, he conducts a devoted one-man crusade to save capital punishment from the mounting wave of moratoriums and death-row commutations. Blecker teaches his young proteges that death is the only just penalty for 'the worst of the worst' the small fraction of the nation s convicted murderers who have surrendered their right to live by the irredeemable viciousness of their crime. His fundamental credo is: 'Some people deserve to die, and it s our obligation to kill them.' watch

Father Knows Best Season 1 — Review

Father's Day may still be a couple months away, but you don't have to wait to show your appreciation for one of the greatest TV dads of all time. Jim Anderson (Robert Young) and the rest of the premier sitcom family have made their way to DVD with the release of the four-disc set of Father Knows Best's complete first season from Shout Factory. In addition to the season's 24 episodes, the set includes "24 Hours in Tyrantland," a previously unaired episode created for the U.S. government as well as the pilot to Robert Young's next project, Window on Main Street. The set also includes new cast interviews, behind-the-scenes color footage and a collection of Young's home movies. However, to many die-hard fans chagrin, many episodes in the set are the 22-minute versions created for syndication rather than the original 26-minute cuts. Shout Factory might not know best in that regard, but it's still great to finally have this TV classic on DVD. — Adam Bryant read more
