Flight Lieutenant William Terrence Decker is flying a patrol over France in 1917 during World War I. He enters a white cloud and the sound of his engine is suddenly muffled. Flying down and out of the cloud, Decker comes in to land at his base... and finds himself landing on a 1959 U.S. Air Force base next to a military transport. Major Wilson and a guard drive out and order Decker to pull over. He stops his biplane and they demand to know why he's there. Decker is surprised that there are Americans with a base in France, and how advanced their planes are.Wilson takes Decker to the base commander, General Harper. Harper demands to know who Decker is, and the pilot identifies himself as a member of the Royal Flying Corps. The general assumes that Decker is part of an air show or a film, and the RFC pilot insists that he is who he claims. When he tells them that he thought he was landing at the 56th Squadron RFC base, Wilson asks him what year he thinks it is. Decker tells them that its 1917, and they tell him that it's March 5, 1959. Decker realizes that they're serious and insists that he's telling them the truth. When he hears a jet fighter lifting off outside, Decker remembers the noise of his plane dying off and goes to the window. The white cloud he flew through is in the sky above the base. He tells them that a similar phenomenon happened when a French pilot disappeared in 1917. When Decker says he was flying with a wingman, Mackaye, Harper asks if he's talking about Air Vice Marshal Alexander Mackaye. Decker confirms that he was, and Harper tells him that Mackaye is due to arrive shortly at the base. Decker tells him that it can't happen... because Mackaye is dead.Harper has Decker put in confinement and then goes through his belongings from the biplane, including his gun and his RFC ID. Wilson examines them as well and the men wonder if it's some kind of a hoax. However, Wilson doesn't see the point for anyone to g watch

Raymond (Peter Lawford), a down-on-his-luck gambler, has lost at the track and, since he can't pay his debts, he has to leave town. He answers an ad placed by a Mr. Walter Hendricks (John Williams) that requests an Englishman for information about the old country. As they journey to San Francisco, Hendricks pumps Raymond about every detail that can be told about London. Raymond is not suspicious, however, because he thinks that Hendricks is just an eccentric, homesick Englishman. After going through Hendricks' belongings, Raymond discovers that he is going to inherit $200,000, and he begins to think that maybe he can get rid of Hendricks and collect the money himself. It seems like a perfect plan, but there might be more about Hendricks that Raymond does not know, and it could be trouble. watch
