Love on the Set of Two and a Half Men

Melanie Lynskey by Cliff Lipson/CBS

Melanie Lynskey may have driven off the set of Two and a Half Men, but when the sitcom celebrates its 100th episode, she'll be back as Charlie’s stalker Rose, and apparently for more than a pit stop. At the CBS Monday Night Lineup Premiere Party on Sept. 19, Men costar Marin Hinkle (who plays Judith Harper) revealed that in the milestone episode, Charlie will realize his true passion for his stalker. "He goes to seek her out to tell her how he feels about her, and there’s a surprise to how she handles it. I’m sure she will be back for many episodes. The way they left it had a wonderful dot-dot-dot."Lynskey is not the only guest star appearing on the comedy in its first six episodes. Janeane Garofalo appears as one of Alan's romantic mistakes, Ming Wen will be one of Charlie’s objects of affection, and much to Holland Taylor’s delight, Robert Wagner will come back to romance her character, Evelyn Harper. "I’ve had Martin Sheen and Robert Wagner as my lo... read more

May 14, 2007: Who's Your Daddy?

Like two little kids in a candy store, Alan and Charlie could not be more giddy over the idea of Teddy (Robert Wagner), becoming their new daddy. Only it wasn't the lure of candy that had these two giggling with excitement. It was more about the "toys" they would get to play with, such as a limo, a private plane, a penthouse suite and ringside tickets to a boxing match in Vegas. However, the trip to Sin City did serve a larger purpose. Teddy had plans of popping the question to Evelyn, and he wanted Charlie and Alan's blessing to move forward with the proposal. Somewhere between the gelato and the prostitutes, the guys managed to give him their enthusiastic approval. Should they have been at all concerned that Teddy lied to their mother about their little outing, branding it as a business trip? Nah, if anything, I think that indiscretion only scored Teddy more points with them. Besides, they had a wedding to plan now!The funniest and most shocking point of the night came when Cha... read more

Casting About: Rita Moreno Gets Ugly, and More

Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony winner (what, couldn't score a Cleo?) Rita Moreno will guest-star on a May episode of Ugly Betty, playing (along with Six Feet Under's Justina Machado) long-lost Suarez family members. In the same ep, Rebecca Gayheart (Vanished) plays a woman Alex dated before his (her?) faked death. I see a chance here to put Aniston-Cox to shame. In other casting news, Billy Dee Williams is on board for SOAPnet's General Hospital spin-off. See Soaps News for deets.... Jane Lynch returns to Two and a Half Men on April 23.... Who costarred on the old TV ...

Question: Who costarred on the old TV show To Catch a Thief with Robert Wagner? I say it was Eddie Albert, but my husband insists it was Norman Fell. Thanks much.

Answer: Well, I insist that both of you need a little straightening out, Ms. Wendy. For one thing, To Catch a Thief was the Hitchcock film that starred Cary Grant and Grace Kelly as a former high-class thief and the socialite who had designs on him. It Takes a Thief was the Wagner vehicle that swiped the basic concept and made it into a series, which ran on ABC's schedule from January 1968 to September 1970. The general setup was that high-end thief Alexander Mundy (Wagner) was cooling his heels in prison but was offered a chance to work for the government on clandestine operations.
