CNN's Erin Burnett paid tribute to her late CNBC co-host Mark Haines on Thursday. The day marked the one-year anniversary of Haines' sudden death. Just a few weeks before, he and Burnett had paid a teary farewell to each other as Burnett left CNBC for CNN. The two worked together for over five years.'Someone very close to me died a year ago today,' said on Thursday. 'I wasn't sure I should acknowledge it on the air, because I'm uncomfortable marking a person's death.'She said that Haines had showed her that 'if you're tenacious, keep your humor, and go to the beat of your own drummer, the world is a wonderful place. On my last day on our set together, mark told me that coming to work together was a joy. It was, a joy for me. I looked forward to seeing him and hearing him come to work every single day. It s something I ll think of for the rest of my life.'WASHINGTON, DC - APRIL 27: Wolf Blitzer of CNN attends the PEOPLE/TIME Party on the eve of the White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 27, 2012 in Washington, DC.
