Martin Lloyd (Willie Garson), last seen in Wormhole X-treme, returns to the SGC looking for assistance from SG-1 with his feature film script. The team is reluctant, especially Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell (Ben Browder), who is excited about his next off-world mission, which marks his 200th trip through the event horizon. However, when technical glitches prevent the team from gating off-world, they are stuck in the boardroom under the orders of General Landry (Beau Bridges), because the Pentagon believes a successful science fiction film about intergalactic wormhole travel will serve as a good cover story to keep the Stargate Program a secret. The notes session, however, quickly devolves into the team members pitching their own versions of a successful sci-fi film - including tributes to The Wizard of Oz, Star Trek, a younger and edgier SG-1, and even a wedding that showcases the return of General Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson). watch

Stargate SG-1 Fans: The Truth Is Out There (in March)

Fans of Stargate SG-1 will get the long-awaited series' finale on March 11, 2008, when MGM Home Entertainment releases Stargate: The Ark of Truth. "We wanted to end the show without really ending it," says the movie's writer/director/producer Robert C. Cooper. "Even if the series is no longer on Sci Fi [Channel], we want it to continue, so we decided to make a movie that wraps up a lot of the big loose ends." The DVD (suggested retail price is $26.98), which winds up the war between Stargate and the world-gobbling Ori, includes commentary by Christopher Judge (Teal'c) and Cooper, as well as a featurette. A second movie is due out on DVD later in '08. — Ileane Rudolph read more

Farscape Hunk's Stargate Gig

It's a sci-fi scenario straight out of Internet fan fiction: Studly Farscape pilot John Crichton gets sucked into a wormhole and wakes up on Stargate SG-1. Well, it's real — or at least it's kind of real. As first reported by TV Guide Online, Ben Browder, who played the marooned astronaut on Sci Fi Channel's late, lamented Farscape (and last fall's miniseries Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars), has been recruited to join the intergalactic soldiers of the network's Stargate. His character — all producers would reveal is that his initials are M.M. — will be introduced when the series begins its ninth season this summer. While this news will have Farscape fanatics buzzing, hard-core Stargazers might be disappointed to learn that Richard Dean Anderson, who plays Stargate Command chief Jack O'Neill, will no longer be a full-time cast member. read more
