Question: I've been a fan of Elementary, and I really liked the story arc last season with Rhys Ifans playing Mycroft. His involvement with Watson, moving to New York, opening the restaurant, concealing from everyone that he was MI6: The whole season seemed to give a fresh twist to the Sherlock history and move it forward. This season, however, with Kitty (Ophelia Lovibond), I'm not getting what the writers are doing. I think she's beyond boring, probably because she has no real reason to be there, and she's splintering the energy I used to feel between Sherlock and Watson, and each of them to Bell and Gregson. None of the episodes this year has grabbed me. Is it just me? Do they have a story arc buried in there someplace I can't see? I'd rather they go back to a crime-of-the-week if they can't do better than this. I love your column, by the way! I can't believe how long it took me to find it, but now I never miss it. — Kay

Elementary Finale: Is Mycroft Really Being Framed?

Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) will have at least one last big mystery to solve before Elementary signs off for Season 2 — and this particular case could be life or death.

Mycroft Holmes (Rhys Ifans) has been somewhat of a mystery since making his first appearance earlier this season, and for good reason: The languid lout has been lying to his brother the whole time. It turns out, Mycroft has been working as an asset for MI-6, using his restaurants as a way to gather intel for Britain's secret intelligence agency.

CBS' Fall 2014 Schedule: Big Bang and more move, Half Men to end, HIMYD dead

But, in another twist, Mycroft left MI-6 years ago, only forced to recently return to secretly protect his brother from prosecution after unknowingly helping a terrorist during his drug spiral in London. That being said, it seemed easy to fall in line with Sherlock's theory that Mycroft was being framed for the murder of an MI-6 analyst who had uncovered a mole within the agency. But what if Mycroft isn't being framed at all and actually is the mole? TVGuide.com took that question and more to executive producer Rob Doherty to get the scoop...read more

Thursday Review: Bad Teacher, Black Box, Hulu's Moone Boy

A week ago, I was raving about FX's inspired reinvention of Fargo from movie to TV series. But this week, we get a cautionary reminder that there are movies that just shouldn't be adapted for TV. Case in point: CBS's head-of-no-class version of 2011's Bad Teacher (Thursday, 9:30/8:30c) that flunks basic lessons of chemistry — starting with... read more

The final episodes of the CBS drama's sophomore run will feature the return of Sherlock's (Jonny Lee Miller) brother Mycroft (Rhys Ifans) to New York. "He'll be back for four more episodes as we wrap up the season," executive producer Rob Doherty tells TVGuide.com. "We are looking to build a Mycroft-centric story to finish out the season. We would include Rhys in four consecutive episodes and build something with him and Sherlock and Joan."

London is calling on Thursday night!

Elementary returns for its second season Thursday night (10/9c, CBS), and like the Parks and Recreation premiere on NBC, it will feature a trip to merry old England when Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) venture across the pond.

Elementary Sneak Peek: Joan is shocked to meet Sherlock's brother

When a former colleague hits a spot of trouble, Sherlock returns to his homeland but then finds himself  in trouble when he crosses paths with his brother Mycroft (Rhys Ifans), whom he hasn't spoken to, much less even mentioned to Joan, in years.
