Malubay is "the little spitfire who could" on
American Idol Season 7. Born in Saudi Arabia and having spent her early years in the Philippines, Malubay began singing at age 12 and also plays the piano and the guitar. Currently living in Miramar, Florida, Malubay was working at a local sushi restaurant and attending school before going on
Idol. Her rendition of "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" was powerful and soaring in the top-24 round.
