The O.C. alumna Rachel Bilson was making the rounds last week to promote the DVD release of Jumper, directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) and starring Hayden Christensen. I grabbed the opportunity to ask if she might resurface as Chuck's sandwich shop sweetheart. Plus: Was there an O.C. story she would have liked to see happen for Summer?

"The Rainy Day Women"- Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson courtesy FOX
After four seasons and countless fistfights, the soap headed into the sunset, and we take a look back on its juiciest twists.1)"Welcome to the O.C., Bitch! Premiere (August 5, 2003) Lukes bon mot to new punching-bag-in-town Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) quickly became the signature line of the series. Says Schwartz, Kids from Orange County say theyre from the O.C. like its the Ukraine. I always found it funny so I gave Luke that line.2) Marissa Dies The Graduates (May 18, 2006) Marissa (Mischa Barton) died in Ryans arms after being run off the road by her bad-boy ex Volchok in Season 3s shocking finale. Despite what the rumor mill would have you think, Schwartz contends that the tragedy was not dictated by anyones off-set antics: Losing Marissaand Mischawas a big loss for the show.3) Julies Affair With Luke The Telenovela (February 25, 2004) Jaws...

Is it just me, or are these episodes getting better every week? The writing is top-notch, the storylines are deliciously deep and complex and the humor is right there. Each Monday I think it can't get any better, and then I am happily and pleasantly surprised. So what happened tonight? Chuck seemed to have everything going his way: A beautiful "normal" woman (returning guest star Rachel Bilson) was interested in him... really interested, as the sweaty homage to Titanic illustrated. But the Intersect in his brain had to go and ruin it all. He flashed on the name of Lou's smuggler ex-boyfriend, and that lead to a downward spiral of mistake after mistake. He was ordered to wear a wire on a date with Lou to try to get some info, and he was so busy trying to do that that he ended up ignoring Lou. Sarah showing up didn't help either.Chuck managed to make it up to her with a sexy sandwich order and a bouquet of Gerber daisies, but the intel he gathered the previous night ended up being comp...

The truth is out there... or was it? Tonight a poison expert (guest star Kevin Weisman) got to Chuck and his crew and exposed them all to some killer truth serum, causing Sarah and Casey to drop the spy act and tell it like it is. Sorta.Unfortunately Ellie got poisoned as well, and Chuck put her welfare before everything and everyone else. He had one dose of the antidote, and he gave it to her. Not a very spy-like move, but certainly a 100 percent Chuck choice. With time running out, Chuck realized how to track down the bad guy and got the antidote for everyone, but not before he got a painful confession from Sarah: Their fake relationship has no chance of getting real. And that makes things even more difficult for Chuck, who found someone who could be real, and right, for him. The O.C alum Rachel Bilson breezed into Chuck's life with a broken phone and a deli sandwich named after him — what's not to love? Too bad he already has a "girlfriend" in Sarah. You can't blame Chuck fo...

Josh Schwartz's superbly entertaining NBC premiere Chuck is bringing on The O.C.'s own Rachel Bilson for a multi-episode run as a romantic option for the titular geek, says USA Today. For more on Chuck and the season's other new shows, listen to the special TV Guide Talk podcast, featuring me, Ausiello and Roush and available Friday. Martin Mull has joined the TNT light-drama pilot Family Man, playing William H. Macy's older brother who can barely hold down a job at Astroburger. (I'm already laughing!) Also per the Reporter, Anne Archer has boarded Lifetime's Family Practice pilot as the Kennedyesque clan's matriarch, opposite Beau Bridges. Lifetime has inked a deal to develop a comedy project starring identical twins Natalie and Nicole Garza. Judy Davis and James Purefoy (Rome) will topline Diamonds, a $15 million miniseries about a lady senator whose daughter is murdered in Africa, says Variety.

Just to clarify: Seths not about to become a daddy, but Frank already is one. Lets start with the main focus of the night, Seth and Summer. Is it wrong for me to sort of wish the pregnancy test had been positive? Purely for the reason of having a good soap-opera story line play out, because Seths and Summers relationship has been a little...well, boring this season. Not that they were ready to become parents, especially with Seths gimme a high five reaction when he thought the test was Taylors and not Summers. Seth, Seth, Seth I was so disappointed in him. Well, at least he redeemed himself at the end, after he was able to figure out his true feelings for Summer (thanks to Ryans help) and propose to her before looking at the test results. The alien ring, Seths declaration of his love, Summers surprise and acceptance it was all very sweet, if for just a moment. And then, suddenly, it all felt...wron...

Twas the night before Chrismukkah, when people worried through The O.C.Because Ryan wasnt stirring, stuck in a coma was he.Chrismukkah is always very special on The O.C., and this installment didnt disappoint. This year they borrowed a popular page from the TV Christmas Handbook and did their own alt-universe spin on Its a Wonderful Life. George Bailey stand-in Ryan was able to see what life in Newport would have been like if he never arrived there, and it wasnt pretty. But it was funny. Funniest of all had to be Summer, Chesters mindless bimbo of a bride-to-be. Every time the clueless, bling-loving junior Newpsie was on screen I cracked up. And although the save-the-earth Summer that we have come to know the past few months can be a bit of a downer, this episode showed how things would have been much worse if Summer had gone in the opposite direction.Likewise, it showed Sandy going in a direction that strayed far from the et...

So its really no surprise that Taylor keeps a blog, one that no less details the erotic memoirs of a soulful college girl (even though technically shes not in college at the moment). What is surprising is how this show manages to keep Taylor and Ryans budding relationship so refreshingly adorable. I love how Taylor doesnt even realize that Ryans asking her out at first, and gets all apologetic about their kiss (Im a lip-biter... sometimes I draw blood). Shes self-deprecating, while hes inadvertently insulting, calling her weird and strange. She stages elaborate soap-opera schemes (What if I did rent a homosexual for the evening, and pay him with rare collectibles from Asian cinema?), while he has fantasies involving roller skates and soapy window-washing that Seth deems pedestrian and average. This opposites-attract plotline isnt an original conce...
