Is Louis really going to expose Mike?
Suits resumes its third season on Thursday (9/8c, USA), picking up right where the midseason finale left off: Louis (Rick Hoffman) discovering that Mike (Patrick J. Adams) does not have a Harvard file at the firm.
"From the beginning [of the premiere], he pursues it," creator and executive producer Aaron Korsh tells TVGuide.com. "There's no way for him not to. Louis loves the law — he worships it — and he cannot have anyone besmirch it or the firm's name. But at the same time, someone could've just taken the file or it got lost or something. He's not sure exactly what's going on, but he obviously thinks something is amiss."
Suits postmortem: What's next for Mike and Louis?
On Thursday's premiere, which features a cameo by Michael Phelps, Louis will make his suspicions known to Donna (Sarah Rafferty), who has to do some quick thinking to throw him off the scent. But will it be enough?
Here are six things to expect from Louis' probe and the remaining six episodes of the season.
Christopher Meloni, Connor Buckley
When it came to looking for his next TV project after logging 12 seasons on Law & Order: SVU, Christopher Meloni had one simple mandate.
"No grim circumstances for 22 one-hour episodes. I just couldn't do that schedule again. So I could be grim for 13 episodes," Meloni told reporters Monday at Fox's Television Critics Association winter previews about his new show Surviving Jack. "Then this pilot plopped on my desk and...

Winning the battle was only half the story — or, in this case, the season. USA Network's Suits returns Thursday (10/9c) to finish out a second year, its momentum from the crackling first half of the season somewhat stalled by the four-month break. Nothing in the first two new episodes quite matches the tension of the summer run, which was dominated by a suspenseful in-house battle for control of the Pearson Hardman (now minus Hardman) law firm.

Happy Endings may have ended Season 2 with Dave (Zachary Knighton) having shared a moment with longtime pal Penny (Casey Wilson) and ex-fiancée Alex (Elisha Cuthbert), but there will be nothing ambiguous about any other their statuses when Season 3 premieres Tuesday (9/8c, ABC).
"We never saw Dave and Alex as a couple since the show obviously [started with her leaving him at the altar], so we really like the idea of exploring that relationship now," executive producer Josh Bycel tells TVGuide.com. "We kind of stumbled upon it, but it was actually better that we were able to have a season and a half to help create real, distinct characters for Dave and Alex, so it ... makes them a [more fun] couple together."
