Teenagers Prince Edward of Gelfland and American Tom Canty couldn't be any more different. Edward has money, clothes and servants catering to his every whim. Tom has no responsibilities and spends most of his time surfing and skateboarding with his friends. The Prince and the Surfer each get their wish when they switch identities during the Prince's royal visit to America.
