It's always a risky move to perform one of the judges' songs in front of them on American Idol, and for Emily Piriz the decision may have backfired.
Last Thursday, Piriz became the second contestant voted off of Season 13, after performingJennifer Lopez' "Let's Get Loud" 24 hours earlier.
But the 18-year-old from Miami says she doesn't regret her decision.
Good to know I'm not the only one who needs pizza to make it through a long night at the Oscars.
With Ellen DeGeneres serving up laughs along with slices, disarming the starry crowd with stunts like a pizza delivery for the starving captive audience and a Superstar Selfie that temporarily broke Twitter (and during the taking of which Meryl Streep delightfully blurted, "I've never tweeted before!"), even the Oscars' inevitable dull patches felt less painful than usual.
The 86th Academy Awards is almost here! The anticipated ceremony will air Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
Ellen DeGeneres will make her second appearance as host of the ceremony, which will be produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
Laurence Fishburne, Mads Mikkelsen
"I never feel guilty eating anything," purrs Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) as he serves up another portion of some erotically charged exotic delicacy. NBC's Hannibal (Friday, 10/9c), in its second season, is a feast of macabre freakishness, going beyond the realm of guilty pleasure in a sustained nightmare of horrific yet elegantly hypnotic design.
Keith Urban, Jenifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr.
Did American Idol's Top 13 rise to the occasion?
Monday was the official debut of the Top 13 finalists and apparently, the debut of voting at the top of the hour. The night's theme is "This Is Me," which we take to mean we can totally psychoanalyze the singers by their song choice. Will anyone dare to do "Billionaire"?
Pink will make a special appearance at the Oscars, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced on Friday.
"We are very excited to welcome Pink to the Oscar stage for the very first time," Zadan and Meron said in a statement. "She is regarded as one of the greatest voices in pop music and one of the best performers of her generation, and we are thrilled to have her join us for a highly anticipated moment on the broadcast."
Will Miley Cyrus be able to top her performance at the Video Music Awards? She'll get a shot to out-twerk herself next month, when she'll perform at the American Music Awards.
Cyrus was announced as a performer Thursday on Good Morning America, when the nominees for the 2013 AMAs were also revealed. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the pack with six nods, including Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Single of the Year (for "Thrift Shop").
Kanye West will perform his single "BLKKK SKKKN HEAD" at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 25, the network announced Monday.
Channing Tatum, Rebel Wilson
This week, host Rebel Wilson and nominee Channing Tatum filmed a series of hilarious promo spots for the upcoming MTV Movie Awards, Pink stopped a concert to comfort a crying child in the audience, and Miley Cyrus twerked in a unicorn onesie. Elsewhere, First Dog Bo Obama went on an Easter egg hunt and an adorable panda cub and his mother enjoyed a "snow day" at the San Diego Zoo.
