One mat spat was all it took to get Keith and Whitney eliminated from The Amazing Race. While waiting for a clue, the Survivor alums got into it with Shelley and Nici, who weren't going to let bygones be bygones: The mother-daughter duo U-Turned Keith and Whitney, who struggled through the hat-tassel-twirling Detour. "I regret talking back to [Shelley]," Keith tells TVGuide.com. "I was just caught in the moment ... and as soon as I saw there was a U-Turn, I knew they would use it on us." Check out what else the couple has to say about the fight, postponing their wedding for the show and howRace compares to Survivor.
A nasty ankle sprain didn't stop Michael and Scott on The Amazing Race, but bad directions did. The Boston firefighters were on the verge of safety when locals directed them the opposite way to the pit stop at Scotland's St. Ninian's Isle. "It was bad directions and a host of things coming together," Michael tells TVGuide.com. "And we have no one to blame but ourselves." Is it worse getting eliminated because of bad directions than an injury? See what they have to say below. Plus: Find out how they feel about Phil Keoghan picking them to win before the season began.
Dennis and Isabelle went as far as to design their own Amazing Race course in preparation for the show. But there was one thing they didn't train for: punting a boat. "I had never heard of punting until this!" Isabelle tells TVGuide.com. The couple was moving along Leg 2 swimmingly until they got swept up in a current and lodged in a corner in the river. How long were they stuck there? Find out below. Plus: What kind of season do they want to see?
The Amazing Race is going back to the start.
To celebrate the 10-time Emmy-winning show's 25th season (premieres Friday, 8/7c, CBS), Race returned to New York City, where Season 1 began and ended, for the kickoff — and the start line in Times Square was open to the public for the first time ever.
Meet The Amazing Race 25 teams
"I've always been an advocate of not keeping where we go a secret," host Phil Keoghan told TVGuide.com before production began. "What we do — keep that a secret — but as far as locations, when we're talking about where we're going, the better it is for the show. I think the viewer is more excited knowing where we're going, and they can't wait to see what happens in that place than they would be if they didn't know. It's kind of a great teaser. If we're going to Spain, you start thinking of all the things we could do in Spain. So I'm very excited to see our fans in Times Square. It's the perfect place to do it."
That's where I found myself at 3 a.m. Saturday, May 31, waiting for Phil to tell me that the world is waiting for me — or you know, the 11 teams. I've watched ...
