Illa J debuts his first hip hop album release which is entirely produced by J Dilla, his brother who passed away in 2006. Illa J speaks on his brother and how he influenced him to become the musician that he is now. Although his entire family were musicians, Illa J has yet to talk about how it was living with his brother. J Dilla left a historic mark and impact in hip hop culture influencing hip hop artists like Common, Kanye West, Pharrell, A Tribe Called Quest, the Pharcyde and Questlove (The Roots). Illa J combines his talent with his brother's mid-90s production to today's generation.

The Pharcyde gets personal on this interview before their first 2008 performance kick off for the Rock the Bells US tour. The Pharcyde talks about the birth of the group and why they persisted in pushing the Pharcyde as a full-time profession which lead to their success.
