Mega Buzz: A Blacklist Betrayal, New Girl's New Date and Gotham's True Hero

Each week, executive editor Adam Bryant satisfies your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to mega_scoop@tvguide.com.

Do you have any new info on The Blacklist's new season? —  Roger
How about some exclusive casting news? Tony-nominated Broadway veteran Norm Lewis — who is currently starring in the title role of The Phantom of the Opera and did a stint last season on Scandal — has been tapped to play J.P. Laskin, a business associate of Red's who doesn't exactly agree with his recent moves in the ongoing war with Berlin. In fact, I hear Laskin may even be tempted to switch sides. Of course, once Red finds out about the betrayal, he'll probably make the choice for him. Perhaps playing a "phantom" will come in handy!

I'm really curious to see how Nick and Jess are doing after their break-up last season on
New Girl. What will their dynamic be like when the show returns? — Lindsay
Four months have passed since Nick and Jess were last romantically involved, but unfortunately for Jess, it's been a bit of a slow summer in the love department...read more

Weekend Playlist: Showtime's Ray Donovan and Dexter

Fixer, fix thyself. Easier said than done in the gaudy cesspool of soul-sucking mendacity we call Hollywood, where Ray Donovan plies his gruff trade as the strong and silent go-to problem-solver of the stars. Showtime's Ray Donovan (Sunday, 10/9c), the summer's best and boldest new show, is a Scandal for the serious-minded: outrageously compelling and teeming with sinister surprise, yet never seeming crazily sensational as it goes to emotional and violent extremes.

On the Set: Liev Schreiber Plays Hollywood Fixer In Ray Donovan

Liev Schreiber is joking that he could use a Ray Donovan right about now. The title character Schreiber plays on Showtime's new drama is a fixer for the Los Angeles elite — the guy you call when your agent, lawyer, manager, publicist, Pilates instructor and raw-food chef can't help you with a crisis. A high-priced-hooker habit? A taste for drugs? A gorgeous corpse in the bathtub? That's when Ray steps in with a plan.

House Comes to an End: The Cast and Producers Retrace the Series' Highs and Lows

Bolstered by American Idol, House quickly became a huge hit. At the end of the third season — which remains the show's highest-rated — the producers blew up the formula and forced House to rebuild his entire diagnostic team. It was the first of many bold (and controversial) storytelling choices. In Part 2 of our oral history, the show's creators and cast look back at the show's most memorable plots. (Read Part 1 here.)

In the Season 3 finale, House... read more

Finale Preview: Hugh Laurie and the House Cast Check Out

After eight seasons and 177 episodes, House ends with an outbreak of poignant goodbyes. In the emotional run-up to the series finale — the episode, titled "Everybody Dies," airs May 21 at 9pm on Fox — each shooting day brought cheers, standing Os and misty-eyed send-offs. "A succession of daily memorial services, it was," as Hugh Laurie puts it. "Someone would yell, 'Hey, everybody, this is Omar Epps' last scene!' 'This is Jesse Spencer's last scene!' 'This is B camera operator's last scene.' The art director's. The sound technician's. It became hard to process all the finality."

It's amusing to imagine... read more
