Peter Facinelli (Damages) and Elizabeth Reaser (Grey's Anatomy) have joined the cast of Twilight, which stars Kristen Stewart as a teen who befriends a classmate only to learn he's a vampire.... Kenneth Branagh and Rhys Ifans are hoping to get their sea legs in The Boat That Rocked, playing a pair of deejays for an English pirate radio show in the 1970s. Last week in his "Joy of Sets" column right here at DVD News & Reviews, Damian Holbrook posted his "wish list of shows [he] would LOVELOVELOVE to show up on DVD during 2008" (that's a direct quote). Near the top of Damian's list was the 2002 series Fastlane, created by McG through Warner Bros. Television, and airing on the Fox Network.The show starred Peter Facinelli (Six Feet Under, Damages), Bill Bellamy (How to Be a Player, Any Given Sunday) and Tiffani Thiessen (aka Tiffani-Amber Thiessen; Beverly Hills 90210, Saved by the Bell) as undercover cops using confiscated goods to go after the crooks in L.A., and included a ton of great guest stars among the 22 episodes produced.Now Peter Facinelli's official website is saying that the show is on its way to DVD this coming summer. Some new deets from The Closer regarding Brenda Leigh's soon-to-be-introduced papa. Clay Johnson, to be played by Barry Corbin (Northern Exposure), is "a retired military officer who owns auto-parts stores in the metro Atlanta area." Corbin and returning guest star Frances Sternhargen (as Brenda's mom) will both appear in Episodes 10 (airing Aug. 20), 11, 14 and 15.In other casting news, Peter Facinelli, whose credits include Six Feet Under and Fastlane, has joined FX's Glenn Close-fronted legal drama Damages, in a recurring role.

Question: Help me, FlickChick — what's the name of this movie? What I think I remember is from the trailer: Four guys from a small Texas town graduate and want to get out of their aforementioned dead-end burg. The old guys in town (probably sitting in front of the barbershop) are laughing and setting odds against them. At the time the lead actors were up-and-coming, but by now they could be stars or orthodontists.
Answer: That sounds to me like the awkwardly named Dancer, Texas Pop. 81 (1998). Of the four up-and-comers — Ethan Embry, now 27; Breckin Meyer, 31; Peter Facinelli, 32; and Eddie Mills, 33 — the first three are working regularly on TV and in movies. Mills has done a little less well, but he's appeared on a bunch of television shows and to the best of my knowledge is not yet looking into dental school.

Charlotte Ross (Jake in Progress NYPD Blue) has come aboard Ugly Betty.... and Sean Patrick Flannery (The Dead Zone) has joined Secrets of a Small Town. Elsewhere, Doublemint Twin Natalie Garza has been cast on Fox's The 12th Man, Michael Gaston has joined CBS' Jericho, and Lenny Clarke will play Rob Corddry's pop in Fox's Becoming Glen.
