What Will Peter Berg's Version of Dune Look Like?

Thursday night served as a reunion for cast members of NBC's Friday Night Lights as they hit the red carpet prior to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' "An Evening with Friday Night Lights," held at the Leonard Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood. Talk was all about love triangles on the show, not only between the characters of Landry, Tyra and Jean, but one that involves Coach Eric Taylor and his wife Tami as well. "My wife's old boyfriend comes into town, and he is played by Pete Berg," Kyle Chandler told TV Guide. Berg, who executive-produces the series and directed the film it was based on, returned to his acting roots in what, for the moment, will serve as Season 2's final new episode."I love that it's somehow come out as a love triangle," laughs Connie Britton, who plays Tami. Someone wake up Farrah Fawcett. On second thought, we don't have time for that. A reboot of 1976's Logan's Run is back on track, with Joseph Kosinski now at the helm. Long in gestation, the project has had at different times the likes of Bryan Singer (who bailed to do Superman Returns) and James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) attached to direct.... Also per the Reporter, former model Natalie Martinez is in talks to play the romantic lead opposite Jason Statham in Death Race, Paul W.S. Anderson's remake of the cult classic.... Per Variety, Peter Berg will adapt and direct Lone Survivor, based on the story of Marcus Luttrell, a Navy SEAL who led a mission into Afghanistan to kill a Taliban leader but was the only one to emerge alive.... ESPN on Sept. 4 will reenter the ring with a third round of The Contender, the first to feature full and uncut fights on ESPN2. Sugar Ray Leonard will again host, says the Reporter.... CBS has given a greenlight to the pilots Worst Week (a half-hour comedy based on the U.K.'s The Worst Week of My Life, and to be penned/exec-produced by Scrubs' Matt Tarses), as well as a medical drama from Kasi Lemmons (Talk to Me) and Mark Gordon (Grey's Anatomy).... Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) and scribe Sheldon Turner are developing for FX a dark drama about two cops undercover with the Russian Mafia, says Variety.
