Has Paula Zahn's love diary finished her? A journal detailing her extramarital affair with billionaire Paul Fribourg has put the former CNN anchor in the news. Zahn's husband, Realtor Richard Cohen, discovered the incriminating chronicle "a while ago," a friend of his tells TV Guide, but it was only leaked after Zahn sued her estranged spouse for mismanagement of more than $25 million in investments. His friend insists Cohen intends to honor their prenup, worth "tens of millions of dollars" to her. So what will the scandal do to Zahn's career? "If she had been successful at CNN, it could affect her as a lead person," a media consultant says. "At this point, I'd say she should look to be part of a news team." — Reporting by Ileane Rudolph

Campbell Brown has officially joined CNN, where she will have her own nightly show. But it’s going to be a few months before viewers can see her. NBC News, where Brown was coanchor of weekend Today and a substitute anchor for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, has exercised a noncompete clause that will keep her off the air until November. Brown will have to take some time off shortly after her arrival because she's due to give birth to her first child in December. Brown said her goal was to get back to work before the presidential primary season kicks into high gear in February 2008. The cable news channel wasn’t ready to announce when Brown’s new show will air, but it’s widely expected that Paula Zahn’s prime-time show will be bumped. — Reporting by Stephen Battaglio

CNN is planning to cancel the low-rated Paula Zahn Now, says Variety, perhaps filling the 8 pm time slot with a news program anchored by NBC's Campbell Brown, if a deal can be worked out.... The 41st Annual Country Music Association Awards will air Nov. 7 on ABC.... DVD release dates have been set for Taxi Driver: Limited Collector's Edition (Aug. 14) and Dane Cook: The Lost Pilots (featuring two never-aired comedy pilots starring you-know-who, Aug. 21).
