  • Shark Gets Some Marshall Law | TV Show Previews | 5/6/2008
On tonight's Shark (9 pm/ET,CBS), newly disbarred L.A. prosecutor Sebastian Stark bets on finding solace in Las Vegas. However, since Stark can still practice law in Nevada, while there he agrees to defend a former client from murder charges. Feeling guilty and helping out is Paula Marshall as the ex-attorney general's office staffer who inadvertently caused Sebastian to lose his California license. With Jeri Ryan on maternity leave, executive producer Ian Biederman says Marshall's Jordan is "much more an equal" than Ryan's Jessica, "although not as comfortable in his world." But then, Sebastian doesn't seem too comfortable right now, either. "This is him going back to defending bad guys," explains Biederman. "He realizes he can't do it anymore." As far as the show's future is concerned, Biederman is "cautiously optimistic" that the recent switch from Sundays to Tuesdays will improve its chances. "We feel like we've earned another shot," he says. James Woods' cocky counselor would... read more
  • Pilot News: Exes Mark the Spot for Mohr and Marshall | Today's News: Our Take | 4/29/2008
Jay Mohr, Paula Marshall (Cupid) and Jaime King (Sin City) will front an untitled CBS comedy pilot from Ed Yeager (Still Standing), says the Reporter. The concept has Mohr playing an easygoing dad struggling to get used to his status as a recent divorcé. Marshall will play his Old Christine ex-wife, while King is his new Christine girlfriend.Should this pilot get picked up to series, Mohr might still continue on at Ghost Whisperer, which has been renewed for next season. — MWMMore pilot news:• Simpsons Execs to Sit Down, Shut Up• Hilary Duff Out, Degrassi Teen In at New 90210• Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Milano May Star in ABC Pilots read more
  • Exclusive: Paula Marshall Takes Shark Bait | Ausiello Report | 2/28/2008
Looks like Shark caught a live one! Sources confirm to me exclusively that the CBS legal drama has tapped Paula Marshall to temporarily replace the show's maternity-bound leading lady, Jeri Ryan. Marshall is expected to appear in at least three of this season's final four episodes. Marshall's character, a state deputy attorney general, first meets Shark (James Woods) at his disbarment arraignment, where she.... I better stop there. Too spoilery. Let's just say the two forge a mutually beneficial partnership. read more
  • Episode Recap: "August Walden" | Nip/Tuck | 2/13/2008
That ending was a real bang, wasn't it? Oh, Julia. If you're going to buy a gun for self-protection, protect yourself by hiding it from others. All Eden the skank needed to do was find that damn gun in Julia's bedroom. I knew that as soon as Julia told Eden that she figured everything out — that Eden was the one who was the cause of her mysterious illness — Eden wasn't going to react in a good way. How about the timing of Julia receiving her follicle lab results that clearly included words like "exposure to high dosages of mercury" and "contaminated foods" at the exact same time that Eden was serving her yet another piece of fruitcake? Bingo! Julia: "I'll take it to my room." Julia's inner thought: "I'll send it to the lab in Virginia." Olivia sure was an understanding lover earlier, sending Julia's hair sample to the lab, even after Julia told her she was having an affair with Christian. I was expecting a different reaction. There was Olivia, all happy and peppy and... read more
  • Episode Recap: "Magda & Jeff" | Nip/Tuck | 1/23/2008
I'm going to cut to the chase and say that this was one of my very least favorite episodes since the series began, but that ending was one of the best ever. How's that for running the gamut? Let's start with that ending: Ding-dong the witch is dead! Just when I thought I was happy to see Gina back because I thought she changed her wicked ways, here she was being more sadly pathetic than ever. So pathetic that I grimaced every time she was on screen after that scene when she paid the Gina-look-alike (Ali Raymer) to have sex with Christian while she watched...and then begged Christian to "Kiss me!" Then when she morphed further into Alex Forrest and lied by manipulating Julia into thinking Christian could be HIV positive because she was having sex with him, I cringed even more. I wanted the bee-yotch to get punished for her craziness. I was so glad to see Christian hand her the restraining order towards the very end. How many of you were thinking (or perhaps screaming): "No way! He... read more
