Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, Prison Break
When your show is called Prison Break, the first season finale sort of writes itself. But now, a season later, what can you do for an encore? Not so tough, says the show's creator and executive producer, Paul Scheuring — just toss out the formula. Again. "The era of the running man is over," he declares about the finale (airing tonight at 8 pm/ET, on Fox).
Meanwhile, brothers Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) still have to complete the final step of Michael's latest plan: Get to Panama and sail off into the sunset with a bag of millions. But first they will have to contend with a few old friends. "This thing catapu

Fox has picked up Prison Break for a third season but earning that green light was no easy feat for the serialized thriller that, having busted its cons out of the clink at the end of Season 1, ran the risk of exhausting not just its fugitives, but its storytelling options. Coming up with a winning Season 3 setup "was absolutely the toughest nut to crack thus far," series creator Paul T. Scheuring tells TVGuide.com. "We always had the first two seasons mapped out in concept, and felt we'd cross the bridge of Season 3 when we got there."What did Scheuring come up with? Understandably, he says, "There's not too much we can divulge. But by the end of the season finale [filmed last week and airing April 2], people will understand where the characters stand, and we leave a lot of mysteries on the table."And which characters will be standing at the sophomore run's end? "More than half of the cast members will be back, and they know who they are," says Scheuring. "But I can't reveal...

Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, Prison Break
Fox has picked up Prison Break (Mondays at 8 pm/ET) for a third season — but earning that green light was no easy feat for the serialized thriller that, having busted its cons out of the clink at the end of Season 1, ran the risk of exhausting not just its scrambling fugitives, but its storytelling options as well. As such, coming up with a winning Season 3 setup "was absolutely the toughest nut to crack thus far," series creator Paul T. Scheuring tells TVGuide.com.
Since the pickup was announced, a few details and clues have surfaced in the trades. For example, viewers can expect the addition of at least four cast members (two men, two women, none American), says Variety, and Scheuring hinted to the Hollywood Reporter that one of the brothers — either

Tonight at 8 pm/ET, the Prison Break on Fox continues, as Michael, Lincoln and the rest of the at-large Fox River 8 run for their lives. Among the fugitives is Tweener, played by Lane Garrison, who, alas, can't escape the heat in Texas, where the drama is now filming.

Robert Knepper, Prison Break
It was a funny thing when word spread that Robert Knepper would be visiting the TV Guide offices here. Because as much as people wanted to meet the Prison Break star, there's still that apprehension. He does play T-Bag, after all, the most morally corrupt of the Fox hit's escaped cons. But when all was said and done, Knepper was greeted by many, and had this to share about Prison Break's debut season gone by and T-Bag's vengeance-filled — and single-handed? — days ahead.
TV Guide: What are they going to do about T-Bag's hand next season?Robert Knepper: I actually called my doctor in L.A.
