Andy Cohen Responds to SNL Spoof: "It Was Funny as Hell"

Andy Cohen is taking Saturday Night Live's spoof of him in stride.

On Saturday, SNL's Taran Killam portrayed the Watch What Happens: Live host as a flamboyant, camera-ready narcissist. Cohen laughed off the impression Sunday during Watch What Happens: Live, but offered up a critique...read more

Boo-ya! TV's Best Halloween Episodes on DVD

First off, let’s all say a quick one for the folks over in Malibu and San Diego. I don’t care who you pray to, they can use all the positive energy they can get right now, you know?OK, so now that we’re only a week away from the greatest holiday (that doesn’t involve wrapping paper), it’s the perfect time to whip out the fondness for some of TV’s best Halloween episodes, which—look at that!—are also saluted in tvguide.com’s supernifty Halloween section! Some are funny, some are freaky, some are just damned frightening. But they all celebrate the season and are available on DVD, so they also therefore rock..Buffy the Vampire Slayer—“Halloween” In the words of Marie Osmond, oh crap. Was this Season 2 howler from ’97 a blast or what?! The Scoobies and most of Sunnydale slip into cursed costumes from a shop run by Giles’ nasty crony and soon, the town is overrun by trick-or-treaters who’ve morphed into whatever ... read more

When I was a kid, my family ...

Question: When I was a kid, my family used to always watch Perry Como Christmas specials. We loved them every year. But one thing I was never able to figure out: Who was he? Did he have his own show or something?

Answer: Not only did he have his own show, Kenny, he had several (both radio and TV), not to mention a long, successful music career. Como started out, interestingly enough, as a barber when he was still in high school, but was already singing at weddings even then. In 1933 he began singing in bands and built enough of a following (and enough hit records) that NBC hired him to cohost The Chesterfield Supper Club radio show, which moved to TV in 1 read more

The One Where Vala Leaves the...

The One Where Vala Leaves the Show began with Mitchell finally getting "the band back together" viz., the return of Amanda Tapping's Sam Carter (who, by the way, would look even better with a perm). Together the gang of five sought to prevent their latest enemies from gaining a beachhead in our galaxy by using an übernuke that would detonate the Ori before the Priors could come flooding through the Stargate to preach his putrid gospel of obeisance. But no… the Ori used the energy of the weapons arrayed against them to create a HUGE Stargate that was disrupted only when Vala flew a cloaked cargo ship into its middle. The portal was destroyed (yay!) but Vala disappeared (boo!). Is she dead? Vala's unresolved exit gives Claudia Black the chance to return whenever her schedule permits — and let's hope it's soon, because she has been the unquestioned highlight of the ninth season. I haven't quite gotten used to Louis Gossett Jr. as Gerak, although it was certainly novel read more
