1. How do you solve a problem like Thursday Night Football?

CBS won the bidding war against NBC, ABC and ESPN to broadcast the NFL's Thursday schedule and will begin airing the games September 11 for seven weeks, delaying the launch of the Eye's Thursday lineup. For CEO Les Moonves and CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler, the no-brainer course of action would be to shift monster hit The Big Bang Theory to Mondays during that period to help launch new comedy How I Met Your Dad, then send it back to Thursdays after the Chargers face the Broncos in the final matchup on October 23.

Question: I just read the news that Sandra Oh has decided to leave Grey's Anatomy at the end of the season. I'm sure a lot of fans will be upset or disappointed, but I actually respect her choice to leave and am grateful she has given so much notice to the writers so that they will be able to find a way to write her out effectively, which Grey's has not always had in the past. ABC is moving out of Apartment 23.

With eight episodes left to air in its sophomore season, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 has been pulled from the schedule, TVGuide.com has confirmed. In its place, ABC will air back-to-back episodes of Happy Endings.

ABC Boss on Fall Failures, Revitalizing Dancing and Looking forward to S.H.I.E.L.D.

For ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee, the Alphabet network's fall schedule was a bit of a mixed bag.

"We have a lot to shout about and we also have a lot to do," Lee told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter TV previews on Thursday. The network, which finished 2012 in third place behind NBC and Fox, struggled to launch new shows  -- new dramas Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue were canceled; Nashville is solid, though Lee wishes he had more viewers in the 35-to-49 demographic — and saw previous ratings juggernaut Dancing with the Stars slide to new lows.
