Patrick McGoohan, as John Drake, finds that a request to investigate a case of blackmail leads him into unexpected drama in the "Danger Man" episode "The Black Book", In which the action takes place in Paris. The girl in the case is Georgina Ward, and the man principally involved is played by Griffith Jones. Other starring parts are played by Jack Gwillim and Patricia Haines. John Drake (PATRICK IVIcGOOHAN) feels that it is not really any concern of his when asked to go to Paris to investigate a case of blackmail; he is not a crime-buster. But the man who asks him to do so, General Carteret (JACK GWILLIM), is far too important to displease, and the black?mailing victim is the General's brother-in-law. A pretty WRNS officer is murdered in Gibraltar - and John Drake has to find a missing radio operator who is known to be somewhere in Spain. Bernard Bresslaw guest-stars, in support of Patrick McGoohan, as the radio operator with a at that includes Patricia Haines, Brian Worth and teen-age actress Judy Geeson, The murder of Petty Officer Sandra Smith (ANITA WEST) of the WRNS outside the gates of the WRNS barracks in Gibraltar is of sufficient significance to bring John Drake (PATRICK McGOOHAN) into the case. She had signal messages in her handbag - messages intended only for the eyes of senior staff and which were never in her room. And, three days after her death, a radio operator named Leo Perrins (BERNARD BRESSLAW), has disappeared, absent without leave.
