Jeanne Tripplehorn
They rarely make TV-movies like Lifetime's Five (Monday, 9/8c) anymore, and I really wish they would. A sensitively told issue-of-the-week anthology in the classic life-affirming tear-jerker tradition, the high-profile talent is on both sides of the camera in these intertwined vignettes dealing with breast cancer. Though the subject matter is wrenching, the tone here is more about emotional uplift, emphasizing the importance of bringing loved ones along for the fight.

Jeanne Tripplehorn and Patricia Clarkson
For Jeanne Tripplehorn, her role in FIVE served as a reminder.
"A few months ago I got a phone call saying that Jennifer [Aniston] and Marta [Kauffman, co-creator of Friends] were doing the project and I immediately said yes," says Tripplehorn. "When we started filming, I realized that I hadn't had a mammogram in two years. So I rushed out to get one immediately. My wish is that when people see this film, it will remind them to do the same."
Doing its part for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lifetime is giving us FIVE (Monday, 9/8c) . The quintet of five short films was directed by Aniston, Demi Moore, Alicia Keys, Patty Jenkins and Penelope Spheeris.
About 20 minutes each, the stories — with stars including Tripplehorn, Rosario Dawson, Ginnifer Goodwin and Patricia Clarkson — deal with the emotional roller coaster that breast cancer patients and their families endure. The women's stories run...

Parks and Recreation
This show is so damn good, it can even make tax audits a joy.
Even though it lost out at the Emmys, by pairing the bro-com-that-could-be of Ben helping Tom Haverford balance Entertainment 7twenty's books with the Ron's impending audit at the hands of his "hellacious nightmare" of a first ex, Parks and Recreation still brought home comedy gold last night: A staggeringly funny script. Patricia Clarkson in Emmy-worthy shape ...

Amy Poehler and Adam Scott
It will be a sad day in TV land if (as Nielsen history suggests) the powerhouse of CBS' The Big Bang Theory helps deliver the abysmal new How to Be a Gentleman a ratings win over NBC's little-show-that-could-do-better Parks and Recreation.
Here's my Fall Preview take on How to Be a Gentleman (CBS, 8:31/7:31c), a misfire that almost makes me miss last year's Bleep My Dad Says, which wasted the same time period: "Felix and Oscar should sue. The overused Odd Couple premise gets one of its more cringeworthy sitcom workouts in the latest assault on the male mystique — caricatured as a squeaky-voiced priss and a bellowing gym-bunny boor. Actually, mankind should sue." To elaborate: David Hornsby plays a metrosexual metropolitan fusspot whose ...

Nick Offerman and Paula Pell
The third Tammy in Ron Swanson's life has taken form: Saturday Night Live veteran Paula Pell has been cast as Parks and Recreation's Mama Swanson -- or Tammy, Ground Zero if you like.
Mama Swanson will be introduced early on in Season 4 along with Ron's never-before-seen, super scary first wife Tammy 1, who will be played by Patricia Clarkson.
Series executive producer Mike Schur told TVGuide.com that Ron's mom is "no shrinking violet," and a character breakdown for the role describes her as "a no-nonsense, patriotic, salt-of-the-earth farm woman."
Insiders say Ron (Nick Offerman) may be in for a Tammy tornado when all three Tammys gather in the same episode.

Are you ready for Tammy, Ground Zero?

Patricia Clarkson and Nick Offerman
Ending months of speculation -- and stunt casting among Parks and Recreation fans -- Patricia Clarkson has been cast as Ron Swanson's first ex-wife, Tammy 1, TVLine reports.
The oft-mentioned, but never-seen Tammy 1 was first viewed from behind in the Season 3 finale of the NBC comedy. Tammy 1 is not only a scary subject for Ron (Nick Offerman), but also for his very crazy other ex-wife, Tammy 2 (Megan Mullally).
Parks and Recreation scoop: Ron's facial hair, Tammy 1, Leslie's big decision and more!

Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon
Justin Timberlake closed out Season 36 of Saturday Night Live, reprising two memorable sketches — co-hosting "The Barry Gibb Talk Show" with SNL alum Jimmy Fallon and re-teaming with Andy Samberg for a third digital short in their '90s R&B group alter egos from "D--- in a Box" and "Motherlover."
Musical guest Lady Gaga also got to have some fun in "3-Way (The Golden Rule)," which saw Timberlake — who was serving as the show's host for the fourth time — and Samberg singing about how it's not gay if it's a three-way, "with a...

Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg with Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson
Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg have come up with another gift that just keeps on giving.
Having previously delivered the Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live digital short "D**k In a Box," the singer host and funnyman collaborated once again for this weekend's show.
In "Motherlover," JT and Samberg's hirsute alter egos decide that, having forgotten to shop for Mother's Day, they'll "take care" of each other's moms. Yes, in that way.
Suffice it to say, this viral clip contains barely bleeped obscenities and mature subject matter.
Perhaps the best part? Playing said about-to-get-lucky moms are Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson.
In his encore as guest host, Timberlake also brought back The Barry Gibb Talk Show (with a visiting Jimmy Fallon), reprised his singing street pitchman, and performed with musical guest Ciara (who sure knows how to do a split.)
Watch "Motherlover" after the jump.
