In one little English hamlet, fishing has always been the purview of the Fosdycks, but now the upstart Lunn clan threatens to end the Fosdycks' 400-year reign. As Fosdyck patriarch Isaac (J. Fisher White) readies for a fight, romance blooms between the two households. Young Ruth Fosdyck (Geraldine Fitzgerald) has fallen in love with John Lunn (Niall MacGinnis), but the growing discord between the two families may quickly end their courtship.
