  • Is the youngest of eight children.
  • Competed in many sports in high school, including soccer, basketball, softball, track and field, bobsled and skeleton.
  • Attended Utah Valley State College on a track and field scholarship, and after graduating, she assisted in coaching track and field there.
  • Was the 2005 World Cup Champion, becoming the first U.S. female skeleton athlete to win this overall title.
  • Fractured her leg when she was hit by a runaway bobsled in 2005, leaving her unable to compete in the 2006 Olympic Games.
  • Won a silver medal in skeleton at the 2014 Sochi Olympics after falling one place short of the podium at the 2010 Games. 
  • Founded the company SnowFireHats.com, which sells winter beanies featuring college sports teams.
