Falling Skies is back on Sunday (9/8c, TNT)... and Tom Mason will be too from his time away with the alien Overlord.
Tom (Noah Wyle) will return a changed man after the aliens make it pretty clear that his visit aboard the ship was far from a peace offering. In fact, the 2nd Mass will be in even more danger this season, which could actually be Tom's fault.
Still, there may be hope on the horizon when the outside world makes contact. Will the promise of a stable life and safety be too good to be true? TVGuide.com turned to Wyle to get the scoop on the second season, including the quick progression of Anne (Moon Bloodgood) and Tom's relationship and the inevitable, impending deaths...

Question: I just finished watching the season finale of Falling Skies and I am very happy the show got renewed for another season. I just hate that we have to wait until next summer before the show comes back on again. I have seen where people have described the show as boring. Did you think it was boring? Falling Skies, Noah Wyle
Some 5.62 million viewers caught the two-episode finale of TNT's Falling Skies, ending almost as strongly as it started, according to preliminary Nielsen data. Of that total, Sunday night's Season 1 conclusion also grabbed 2.53 million among 18-to-49-year-olds.
When the Steven Spielberg-produced show starring Noah Wyle debuted on June 19, it attracted 5.9 million people. But in the wake of V and The Event crashing and burning, the question was whether Falling Skies — about the aftermath of an alien invasion that devastated much of the Earth — would plummet after a promising start.
