Danish filmmaker Christoffer Boe makes his feature debut with the psychological romantic drama Reconstruction. Set in Copenhagen during a 24-hour period, narrator August (Krister Henriksson) works on his novel while his wife, Aimee (Maria Bonnevie), has a one-night stand with photographer Alex (Nikolaj Lie Kaas). The next morning, Alex appears to have lost touch with his surroundings as his friends, family, and girlfriend Simone (also played by Bonnevie) treat him like a stranger. Lasse Spang Olsen directs the Danish action film Old Men in New Cars aka In China They Eat Dogs II. Harold (Kim Bodnia), Peter (Tomas Villum Jensen), and Martin (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) travel to Sweden in order to help the convict Ludvig (Torkel Pettersson) escape from prison. Danish director Susanne Biers also cowrote this drama about two brothers (Ulrich Thomsen and Nikolaj Lie Kaas), one responsible and settled, with a wife ('Gladiator's Connie Nielsen) and children, the other a ne'er-do-well drifter. Michael (Thomsen) is sent on a U.N. mission to Afghanistan, and is reported missing and presumed dead. His brother, Jannik, shows a surprising maturity when he steps up to help his sister-in-law cope with her loss. It's then revealed that Michael wasn't killed but had been captured and held prisoner. When he comes home, traumatized from his experience, he finds that the relationship between his wife and brother has grown deeper, and that all three must learn to navigate the rocky new emotional terrain of their lives.
