Began acting in the community-theater program Broadway Bound as a kid in Seattle. By age 11, he was doing repertory theater, working with Seattle's ACT (A Contemporary Theatre), where he won leading roles in productions of A Christmas Carol and To Kill a Mockingbird.
On only his second television audition in Los Angeles, he landed the series regular role of Ryder on Melissa & Joey.
Plays the ukulele.
Is a supporter of the fight to end muscular dystrophy.
