Bachelor Pad host Chris Harrison admits he was shocked by the outcome of this week's spelling bee competition.
"I did not foresee Chris and Sarah being such a force," he tells TVGuide.com. "Ed is a well-educated man and Jaclyn is a smart woman, so I really thought they would do well."
This week's Bachelor Pad begins immediately after last week's crazy twist, and Rachel is hysterical that Michael, whom she's falling in love with, has left. Chris Harrison comes into the house to tell everyone there are now just 10 of them left and they'll be competing as couples from here on out. Nick, the odd man out, is now with heartbroken Rachel. Meanwhile, everyone is shocked that Chris is still in the game and everyone seems to want him gone.

Just when it seemed that house womanizer Chris would experience some payback, a twist was revealed: The players would vote out a woman who would then single-handedly choose a man to exit with her. Last year's winner Michael, aware he'd be on the chopping block, tried to get his friend Erica out. But when his plan was discovered, she turned right around and took him out with her.
This week's episode of Bachelor Pad picks up immediately after the tense rose ceremony with Ed and Jaclyn toasting their victory. But the celebrations are short-lived when Chris Harrison comes in and announces that their next challenge begins right away. The players are simply handed surveys and instructed to answer honestly.
On this week's Bachelor Pad, the man claws come out as Ed learns that Reid conspired, and failed, to get him out of the game. But first, Ed contemplates leaving until Jaclyn convinces him he needs to stay for her and her emotional sanity. "I don't like lying," Ed says. Oh, hey don't go on a competition reality show then! But ultimately Ed admits he wants to stay and is ready to fight back.
