Daniel (Brad Rowe) is a young mover and shaker who has grown tired of the rat race and yearns to trade in his stressed out existence for one more spiritual and simple. He joins an order led by the seemingly benevolent and serene "Father" (Nick Mancuso) and, with his girlfriend Beth (Michelle Beaudoin) and best friend Thomas (Jeremy Sisto) boards the bus to "the promised land," bound for a new life, one that can only be attained, as Father says, "through faith and service." But once there, Daniel senses that all is not right with "Father" and the safe haven he and the other followers have built for themselves may not be all it's cracked up to be.

Jane March (Color of Night) stars in this entertaining thriller as a North Korean spy working in the South Korean home of an American military man and his family. Half espionage thriller and half trashy coming-of-age story, the film spends as much time on March's budding romance with the teenage son (Stephen Mendel) as it does with her growing conflict over carrying out the agenda of Kim il Sung. Nick Mancuso turns in a campy, over-the-top performance as a crippled CIA specialist brought in to plug the nearby base's sudden security leak, and genre fans will be happy to see Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa in another sneering villain role. Despite its pretentiously arty flashback and dream sequences, Provocateur is popcorn junk, but it's a lot of fun. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide.

Stone has been out of sorts and unable to focus on his work ever since his wife and children disappeared along with millions of others not long ago -- an event some believe to have been the Rapture. The Moonie cult of the 1970s and '80s has been cited as the principal inspiration for the 1981 Canadian production Ticket to Heaven. Nick Mancuso plays impressionable youth David Kappel, who, after breaking up with his girlfriend, tries to find an emotional balm by joining a religious sect. The first portion of the film details David's indoctrination into the group. The remaining portion concerns the efforts made by his parents to locate their thoroughly brainwashed son. R.H. Thomson dominates the final scenes as a deprogrammer hired to shake David out of his religious euphoria. What begins as a friendly game of cards ends up in an impromptu group-therapy session. Joey decides to get even by stealing Downs' luxurious sports car with the help of his brother Michael (Andrew Divoff). However, Downs is not willing to give up his car without a fight; he's fitted the vehicle with a variety of security devices and unusual weapons that make it a virtual torture chamber for anyone who sets foot in it without Downs' permission, and the car thieves quickly discover that they've become victims of the man they set out to rob.
