The Sliders land in the ocean, and swim to the nearby beach, where they realize California has become a chain of islands. They enter the dense undergrowth, feeling that something is watching them. They're right: something chases them. They evade the vaguely-human creature, then it leaps on Quinn (Jerry O'Connell). Maggie (Kari Wuhrer) grabs a rock and knocks it out. Hearing more growls, they rush off. Elsewhere in the jungle, Rickman (Neil Dickson) sneaks up on a half-human creature and plunges a needle into its neck. He then injects himself, taking on the hybrid's features. At the hybrids' lair, Rickman asks the leader, Ceres (DeRon Michael McBee), if they are ready to attack the compound, but Ceres tells him that Dr. Vargas (Michael York) has guns. Just then, a hybrid is dragged in, mumbling about other humans. Realizing it's the Sliders, Rickman tells Ceres to shift his attack to the new humans. A man wearing a gas mask picks flowering plants from a foggy forest, when he is set upon by a group of the natives. They cut the hose, and watch him die, gasping. Shortly, the Sliders land in the forest and all but Maggie (Kari Wuhrer) start coughing and gasping. She leads them out of the fog, which ends at the forest line. Deep within the fog, the natives, accompanied by Colonel Rickman (Neil Dickson), watch their struggle. Later, when Maggie returns from exploring the fog, Quinn (Jerry O'Connell) berates her for leaving the group and demands that she stay with the team. They enter a nearby rustic town, inhabited by a simple, unmodern people and they encounter Adra (Oona Hart), a blind seer, as she reads tarot cards. When she touches Quinn's face, she gets a vision -- he is a sacrificial victim for the natives -- and warns them to leave town. Rembrandt (Cleavant Derricks) thinks it's nonsense, but Wade (Sabrina Lloyd) wants to find out more.

As a packed crowd waits for the Gothic band Stoker to take the stage, a stagehand introduces a lovely girl, Mina (Leslie Monique Soule), to the band. The lead singer, Morgan (Ryan Alosio), takes her to the side and buries his fangs in her neck. Later, out in the crowd gathered for the performance, Wade (Sabrina Lloyd) watches the band. In the morning, Maggie (Kari Wuhrer) suggests that they split up to find Rickman (Neil Dickson); Quinn (Jerry O'Connell) agrees, though he's curious about all the missing girls in this city. They leave Wade, who wants to sleep late. At a hospital, Rickman, disguised as a priest, draws fluid from sleeping patients. Quinn searches the hospital, to find these patients now in comas.

The Sliders land in a gypsy village, to find several comatose or dead victims. Quinn (Jerry O'Connell) realizes Rickman is acting desperately, and they follow him to a world they've visited before -- the world Maggie's people arrived in to escape the destruction of their world. Upon arrival, they encounter huge, plant-eating dinosaurs. Maggie (Kari Wuhrer) is excited about the dinosaurs, but Rembrandt (Cleavant Derricks) is more excited that he will once again see Malcolm, the boy whose life he saved. They soon see a wrecked jeep, and then the refugees' empty camp, and a drawing -- by Malcolm -- of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. They also find a mass graveyard. Nearby, Rickman (Neil Dickson) finds a sentry from one of the camps, and attacks him. He is unable to complete his deadly task when he is attacked by the T-Rex.

During the first two seasons of the Fox series Sliders, college student Quinn Mallory (Jerry O'Connell) and his companions Prof. Arturo (John Rhys-Davies), Wade (Sabrina Lloyd) and Rembrandt (Cleavant Derricks) have used the time-sliding device created by Quinn to pop up in various alternate versions of contemporary San Francisco, all the while endeavoring to return to their own world. Beginning with season three, the sliding device has been modified so that the foursome will be able to emerge in countries and worlds other than San Francisco -- meaning, in many cases, alternate editions of the universe.
