God bless the free-speaking elders. Former Grammy winner Natalie Cole told reporters at one of Sunday night's after-parties that Amy Winehouse is talented but "crazy," and that quintet of wins was questionable... all things considered. "I don't think she deserved it," the New York Daily News quotes Cole (herself no stranger to battles with drink and more) as saying. "She needs to get her life together first, and then get the awards later." (OK, but by that standard just how long would any Grammys ceremony be?) Overhearing Cole's rant, Ringo Starr commented, "Man, those are some grapes" and no, a fruit platter was not being offered to him at the time. Nelly, for one, defended Winehouse's accolades, telling the News, "You can't hate a person for their personal life."

America's Next Top Model This show is not ever subtle with its editing, so you know that whoever gets the most airtime will at least end up in the bottom two. Exhibit A: Gina. But there's often someone else who gets the next-most time, and at the last second — wham! — that's who's really out. Happened last week with Wendy, and this week with Kari. I suppose Kari falls under the category of being too conventionally pretty (though sometimes she looks like a Barbie doll when you horizontally squish its face), just like Kyle did last season, and this season they're really shooting for what Nigel calls "so wrong it's right." Uh-huh. Then again, he had to mop up pools of drool after seeing Leslie's and Dan

Grey's Anatomy The real test to determine whether an actor is doing an effective job is not just how well he or she acts in a scene but how he or she re-acts. We had some really great reacting tonight. An obvious example is Sandra Oh's facial expressions as Cristina was forced to be Bailey's baby-sitter. How hilarious was she while changing the baby's diaper? Then when she told the baby to "Shut it!", I had to TiVo back and watch it again. But back to the reacting. Patrick Dempsey's face said it all while Meredith was explaining to Derek the horrible thing she did to George. Meredith asked Derek to act like a friend, not as her ex, and you could tell he was struggling just by the expression on his face. I love th

Speaking of fake-hospital TV series... Grammy winner Natalie Cole slipped and fell, fracturing her right arm, while taping an episode of ABC's Grey's Anatomy earlier this week, says the New York Daily News. After being fitted for a real-life sling, Cole returned to work like a trouper — only to have George, like, sit there and pine for her like a sad puppy dog.
