Medical Center Star Chad Everett Dies at 75

Medical Center star Chad Everett has died. He was 75.

The actor died in his Los Angeles home Tuesday after a year-and-a-half-long battle with lung cancer, Everett's daughter, Katherine Thorp, told The Associated Press.

Everett, who was born Raymon Lee Cramton, rose to fame playing Dr. Joe Cannon on Medical Center, a role which earned him two Golden Globe nods and an Emmy nomination. read more

Liev Schreiber missed Tuesday's premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine to be with his 21-month-old son, Sasha, who was hospitalized for respiratory problems.

The actor, who plays Wolverine's nemesis, Sabretooth, left Los Angeles to join his partner, Naomi Watts, and their two children in New York, People reports. Sasha remained in the hospital overnight and was released Wednesday morning.

"Sasha got home today and is feeling much better," Schreiber's rep said Wednesday.

In the wake of Heath Ledger's shocking death, the AP reports that an autopsy being conducted today is so far "inconclusive." Sources from the medical examiner's office say that more tests are needed, and it will be about 10 days before more details are known.No illegal drugs were found in the actor's apartment, and a rolled-up $20 bill found near his body has tested negative for any trace of narcotics. Ledger, though, was in possession of six prescription medications, including pills to treat insomnia and anxiety, and an antihistamine, the AP reports. Three of the drugs were prescribed in Europe.Ledger's passing has been described by his family as "accidental," police reported no obvious indications of suicide, and he was heard alive as late as 12:30 pm (three hours before he was found).
