Katee Sackhoff: From Starbuck to Nip/Tuck

Katee Sackhoff, who recently eyed a gig as a CSI, instead will wield a scalpel during the sixth season of FX's Nip/Tuck. Per the Reporter, the Battlestar Galactica badass will play Theodora "Teddy" Lowe, a new doctor who challenges Dylan Walsh's Sean in at least four episodes. Morgan Fairchild Checks Out Men in Trees' "Morgan Fairchild"

The male-dense berg of Elmo gets a much-needed shot of womanhood when TV-serial icon Morgan Fairchild descends upon ABC's Men in Trees (tonight at 10 pm/ET). Playing "Morgan Fairchild," the blonde beauty will seek to secure rights to Marin Frost's life story. TVGuide.com invited (the real) Fairchild to preview her visit to Alaska, tell Morgan apart from "Morgan," and reflect upon '80s fashions. TVGuide.com: Men in Trees is working off quite a lag time. Hopefully it hasn't been so long since you filmed this episode that you don't remember it at all.Morgan Fairchild: Oh, I definitely do. I had a great time on the show. They were very, very nice. TVGuide.com: When, if ever, was the last time you played yourself?Fairchild: I play myself every once in a while. I played myself in Holy Man wit read more

Men in Trees Is Bloomin' Wonderful Yet Again

Let others wax pop-culturey about the premieres of Chuck, Reaper and Gossip Girl. The show I'm excited to see on the air — and after an unacceptably truncated first season — is ABC's Men in Trees. Uprooted from its time slot without any fanfare (and all to make room for the likes of October Road and Notes from the Underbelly), Men in Trees returns Friday, Oct. 12, at 10 pm/ET, with a rather excellent episode, which I had the pleasure of screening over the weekend. (Any quality TV that engrosses and delights my wife always gets the upgrade to "excellent.")As you may know from embracing my news blog, ABC decided to take last season's unaired episodes and use them to "supersize" Men in Trees' sophomore season, resulting in fewer repeats and whatnot. Yet the first new episode out of the gate on the 12th is not from that batch. Rather, to better ease those both familiar with and new to the Anne Heche-starrer into the new season, they shot a brand-new episode titled "A Tree Goes... read more

Men in Trees Update

Hi, all. It's been so long since we've seen a new episode, but I'm afraid the wait will have to continue. The season premiere isn't until Friday, Oct. 12. (Why ABC, why?) I do, however, have some good news. Ausiello just broke this story about Morgan Fairchild guest-starring as herself. Yay! We'll have to wait a while to see the episode, but I don't mind... as long as nothing else happens to postpone the season. read more

Exclusive: Men in Trees Extends Branch to Morgan Fairchild

Remember me telling you a few weeks back that Men in Trees was looking for an actress to visit Elmo and become infatuated with all things Marin Frist? Well, said actress has been found.... And she's '80s soap vixen Morgan Fairchild!Fairchild will guest-star later this season as — get this — herself. "She shows up in Elmo and decides she wants to buy Marin's life rights," reveals MIT creator Jenny Bicks of her one-episode stint, which shoots this month but won't air until February 2008. Why the delayed gratification? As you'll recall, Trees already had five unaired episodes in the can from last season when production started up last month. As a result, they're way ahead of schedule. And that, according to industry insiders, is the one and only benefit to being unceremoniously yanked off the air in place of a crap show like October Road. Sorry, but someone had to say it. read more
