Dallas Season 2 Burning Questions Answered: J.R.'s Farewell, Hiccups for Ann and Bobby

Dallas

Christopher's petition for annulment was rejected! Ann's long-lost daughter hates her guts! Sue Ellen lost the election! It was an eventful return to Dallas on last week's two-hour season premiere. After five months off the air, the Ewing clan & Co. wasted no time answering some of fans' biggest burning questions from the first season finale, and raising some new ones for Season 2 (Mondays at 9/8c on TNT). Although she did her best not to spoil what's to come, we turned to showrunner Cynthia Cidre for answers:

1. Could Elena and John Ross be the real deal? It wasn't a complete surprise to see brokenhearted bad guys John Ross (Josh Henderson) and... read more

Dallas Remembers Larry Hagman With a New Season 2 Mystery

Dallas

Two months after Larry Hagman's November 23 death, the Dallas cast past and present has assembled at the city's swanky Petroleum Club to shoot an epic, drama-filled memorial for his legendary J.R. Ewing. Among the mourners who have returned to pay their respects — or disrespects — are Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval), Gary and Lucy Ewing (Ted Shackelford and Charlene Tilton), Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly), Mandy Winger (Deborah Shelton) and Cally Harper Ewing (Cathy Podewell). On set, the late actor's spirit is still very much alive. Each morning when he passes Hagman's trailer, Patrick Duffy, who plays Bobby Ewing, knocks on his friend's door. "Not like I'm expecting him to say, 'Come in,'" Duffy says. "But just to say to Larry, 'I'm still here, pal.'" And if you believe some of Hagman's costars, he's been knocking right back.

Supernatural Episode Recap: "Time After Time"

Sam and Dean temporarily put aside their quest to bring down Dick Roman long enough for Dean to get thrown back in time to 1944. So while Dean's hanging with Mr. Untouchable himself, Eliot Ness, Sam's trying to figure out a way to bring him back to the future.

There's a smile on my face as I'm writing this blog. The smile started while I was watching this episode and it hasn't stopped since. This is the first Supernatural this season that has blown me away from beginning to end. It's a complete success. I have no major complaints. It makes me happy to write that, however, this wasn't a given. These '40s noir-themed episodes TV shows like to do from time to time aren't normally my favorites. Everyone wants to do them but not everybody can do them right. Supernatural did it right and then some.

Supernatural Scoop: X-Citing Guest Star to Appear in Season 4

Mitch Pileggi by Todd Williamson/ WireImage.com

X-Files vet Mitch Pileggi, who may (or may not) have just appeared in the series' latest movie, already has a new gig lined up for fall — as a guest on Supernatural. Speaking at the raucous Supernatural panel at Comic-Con, series creator Eric Kripke offered some scoop for the ravenous audience when pressed about upcoming guests. Pileggi will be appearing in Season 4 as Mary's father — thus, Sam and Dean's pappy! The panel's other highlights included the surprise arrival of the two Ghost Facers and a sneak peek of the first five minutes of Season 4. The Ghost guys — who just might get their own mini spin-off — treated us to their special song and cracked the audience up when Jensen Ackles escorted them off stage. The session was much less spoilery and playful than than that of Smallville, and Kripke was far more cryptic about what's to come than might suit his loyal fans. But the adoration of Jared Padalecki and Ackles for their sheer gorgeousness was so zealous tha... read more

April 26, 2007: Desire

This episode effectively set the tone for next week's two-hour spin-off that will establish Kate Walsh's potential new series wherein Addison skips town for L.A. after getting Sleepless in Seattle. Poor gal couldn't get a break. First, McSteamy tells her he broke their no-sex agreement because he figured out that he wasn't the one for her (it didn't help when he saw Addison and Alex come out of the closet in more ways than one). Then, just when she figured she had a new boy toy after their totally hot closet sex, Alex gave her the "You're not my girlfriend" speech. Cue Debbie Downer. I felt that final narration line from Meredith summed up the hour quite eloquently: "People who suffer the most are the ones who don't know what they want." Terrific script by Mark Wilding.I was glad they didn't drag out the Izzie-George-Callie awkwardness anymore and had Callie finally speak up. I liked how Callie couldn't really be specific with her request to Izzie, saying: "Do whatever you have to d... read more
