The Biz: Chris Wallace Celebrates 10 Years on Fox News Sunday

Time flies when you're making politicians squirm with tough questions. This Sunday, Fox News Channel's Chris Wallace celebrates 10 years in the anchor chair on the Washington roundtable show Fox News Sunday (check local listings). Wallace is the only news anchor to helm Sunday shows on two different networks — he was moderator of NBC's Meet the Press in the late 1980s. He recently took some time to reflect on his run and his days as a gofer for Walter Cronkite.

Mike Wallace announced on Tuesday that he is stepping down as a 60 Minutes regular and moving to the position of correspondent emeritus (which, if I correctly recall from my Latin classes, means "reporter carrying a nail file." OK, I was a lousy student.) Wallace has been with 60 Minutes since its 1968 premiere and with CBS since 1951. read more

I remember the whole 60 ...

William Westmoreland, too? What was that about?Answer: It wasn't actually 60 Minutes that was involved in the Westmoreland lawsuit, Lee. It was Mike Wallace, a correspondent for that show, who worked on a 1982 CBS News report titled The Uncounted Enemy: A Vietnam Deception. The main thrust of the report was that Westmoreland, the former commander of U.S. military forces in Vietnam, oversaw a military-intelligence effort to trick President Lyn read more
