Prepare for a soapgasmic experience! The Young and the Restless' Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) will come face to face with former All My Children star Sarah Michelle Gellar on Gellar's new CW show Ringer. The plot of the series finds Gellar playing estranged sibs Bridget and Siobhan. The former, a recovering alcoholic, is on the run after witnessing a mob murder and assumes the identity of her well-to-do sister in Manhattan, only to find that the sister is also marked for death. Stafford plays a blabby society dame in the September 27 episode.
It's time for that annual exercise in hopelessness, pointlessness and foolishness — predicting the Daytime Emmys! I mean, seriously, why do we bother? You can think you have good taste and know award-worthy talent when you see it. You can spend hours upon hours reviewing the reels that each of the nominees has submitted to the judges. And then it can all blow up in your face with three little words: Drew Tyler Bell. Yes, my little soap peeps, anyone can win at the Daytime Emmys (which air Sunday at 8/7c, on CBS). Anyone. So, with that in mind, here we go...

General Hospital earned a leading 21 Daytime Emmy Awards nominations Wednesday, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced.
Right on its tail is The Young and the Restless with 20 nods...
It's been 16 years since Michelle Stafford hit The Young and the Restless as scheming rock groupie Phyllis Summers — and two Emmys and eight nominations later she's still playing it bad to the bone. These days Phyllis is a hotshot magazine editor with a poisonous blog that's pissing off half of Genoa City. And she's always on the lookout for smarm! On November 29, the flame-haired nutjob will head to New Orleans to get the scoop on Adam Newman (Michael Muhney) after the mysterious disappearance of his wife, Skye (Laura Stone). While there, Phyllis also finds her ex-husband Nick (Joshua Morrow) and archenemy Sharon (Sharon Case). Y&R shot four episodes in the Big Easy (they begin airing November 24) with locations ranging from the French Quarter to the allegedly haunted Lafayette Cemetery. ...
Michelle Stafford, Sarah Joy Brown
Only one thing is certain about the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards: My predictions will suck and as always I will blame it on those crazy blue-ribbon judges! Still, after re-watching each of the episodes submitted by the soap nominees, I can't resist my yearly exercise in embarrassment. So here goes...

General Hospital nabbed a leading 18 Daytime Emmy Award nominations Wednesday as it goes for its 11th outstanding drama series trophy.
The ABC soap, which has won outstanding drama series more times than any other show, will vie for the top honor against All My Children, defending champion The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. General Hospital last won the award in 2008.

To quote myself, as Ive been known to do: Reality television creates celebrities out of almost anyone. That line, spoken during the judging panel, pretty much sums up the theme of this episode. It also applies to this weeks guest judge, Chris Moore, who became famous as the no-holds-barred taskmaster of HBOs pioneering docu-reality series Project Greenlight. Chris is a larger-than-life personality, as anyone knows who's watched Greenlight. Hes funny and bawdy, yet as I get to know him during the long course of a shoot on a balmy Sunday night, he still seems genuinely surprised that he became a recognizable TV personality by being on a reality show.Hes the perfect choice to guide us through this challenge, which took on an unexpectedly wacky dimension when one of the guest celebs backed out as in threw out his back. As we arrive at the stage, were told of the unusual circumstances: Lorenzo Lamas had dropped out at the ...
Joshua Morrow by Robert Voets/CBS
I did a photo shoot with Joshua Morrow (Nick) and Sharon Case (Sharon) the other day. It was really fun or at least Sharon and I had fun. Josh couldnt wait to get out of there. He had a softball game to go to, and taking pictures is not Joshs favorite thing to do. Here he had two hot babes draped over him and he still didnt like it.Sharon just got married, so shes in honeymoon bliss. Its very sweet to see. Me myself, Im alone, barren and lonely, ha ha ha. Thats completely a joke. Of course I'm not barren. The Daytime Emmys are next week. It will be very fun Im sure. It's always fun to see everybody. Im very much looking forward to the lead-actress luncheon on Thursday. And I picked the place and put together the event, since Susan Flannery (Stephanie, B&B) was egregiously not nominated this year although she will be coming to the luncheon. Unfortunately, Maura West (Carly, ATWT) cannot attend. Im very bumme...
Hey! I'm Michelle Stafford and I play Phyllis Summers Newman on CBS' The Young and the Restless. This is my first entry for my new TVGuide.com blog. TV Guide soap-opera guru Daniel Coleridge invited me to write this, so here it is.... My body is very tired because I've been crying for the last three days on the show. Ive been working with Christian [LeBlanc, Michael on The Young and the Restless], and hes out of his mind. When Christian and I rehearse, I like to walk around The Grove (great shopping center, right next door to where we tape at CBS Television City) and run our lines, and go to my favorite Brazilian restaurant at the Farmers Market (adjacent to The Grove). Even if were two hours away from shooting, Christian is hesitant to leave the studio. Christian likes to run, and run, and run the lines. I like to run the lines a few times. Peter [Bergman, who plays Jack] likes to run the lines a few times too. Josh [Morrow, who plays Nick] doesnt like to ru...
Michelle Stafford and Marisa Ramirez, The Young and the Restless
Scoop! The Young and the Restless redhead Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) recently shot a Fox pilot in Memphis. It's an hourlong drama whose working title is Southern Comfort.
"You have the exclusive on that, my friend!" Stafford tells TVGuide.com. "The leading lady is Madeleine Stowe. She plays Charlotte, a Southern belle whose husband is in the Mafia, unbeknownst to her. He gets caught and she basically becomes a Mafia princess. I play her perky, happy best friend, Susan, and I have a twangy accent!"
Other celebs appearing in the pilot include Eric Roberts and Calvin Klein model Travis Fimmel, who briefly starred in WB's Tarzan.
Stafford left Y&R once before, back in 1997, to star in Aaron Spelling's superfun but short-lived nighttime sudser Pacific Palisades. But the Daytime Emmy winner's fans need not fret just yet about the
