Erin Andrews is four weeks into her new gig as co-host of Dancing with the Stars, and while her presence in the ballroom has been a breath of fresh air for viewers in Season 18, the transition period has not exactly been bump-free.
Last week, some tabloid reports surfaced, quoting anonymous sources who accused Andrews of "diva" behavior on the set, and speculated that ABC might already be looking to replace her. (Executive producer Conrad Green has vehemently denied that there's any animosity behind the scenes.)
"I've got to be honest. ... It kind of got me worried and scared," Andrews told TVGuide.com last week, noting that she immediately called producers to do damage control. "I just went back and forth with the producers like, 'Are we good here? Please tell me what I need to work on. Please tell me what I need to do. 'And they're like, 'We couldn't be happier.'"
After his private conversation with a 17-year-old girl leaked online, James Franco attempted to do some damage control on Live! With Kelly and Michael Friday.
After meeting the teenage tourist at his Broadway show Of Mice and Men, Franco reached out to her on Instagram. He soon suggested they rent a hotel room and insisted, "Don't tell."
Michael Strahan has confirmed he's joining Good Morning America.
The former football star announced the news during Wednesday's Live! with Kelly and Michael.
Nickelodeon will hold the first Kids' Choice Sports Awards this summer, the network announced Thursday. The inaugural show will be hosted by former NFL player and Live! with Kelly and Michael co-host Michael Strahan, and will be broadcast live from the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles on Thursday, July 17.
It's a marriage made in Nielsen heaven. Live With Kelly and Michael was a hit from the get-go when it debuted on September 4, 2012. And the frisky daytime gabfest — hosted by Kelly Ripa and former NFL defensive end Michael Strahan — continues to show surprising muscle. It recently tied with Dr. Phil as the No. 1 syndicated talk show in household ratings, beating longtime champ Ellen (particularly impressive since Live airs in earlier time periods with lower TV usage). With more than 3.5 million viewers, the show is also drawing its biggest overall audience since 2007—08, when it was still Live With Regis and Kelly. Why has this 25-year-old program caught fire? We corralled Ripa and Strahan to find out.
