Here's an exclusive clip from Thursday's episode of Once Upon A Time in Wonderland, which finds Alice and Will, the Knave, confronting a fire-breathing dragon. The scene was shot on location outside Vancouver at Alouette Lake in Golden Ears National Park. "I love being out here," the show's Alice, Sophie Lowe, told me on set. "We had to start out here at 4 a.m. when it was still pitch dark, but when the sun came out we discovered how beautiful it is. Even though we have to deal with rain and planes, I definitely enjoy location shoots more than our green screen scenes."
During breaks in filming, the cast set out on their own to explore the park's wonders. "I'm from the middle of England with grey skies and no water or sun, so I'm always wandering off into Vancouver's forests," says Michael Socha (Knave Will). "I'm just glad I haven't bumped into one of those bloody bears yet!"
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland airs Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland has gotten off to a rocky start, but the Once spin-off surprised viewers by revealing that the Red Queen (Emma Rigby) was actually the Knave's (Michael Socha) former love from another world.
Once upon a very different time, Lisa Kudrow owned Thursday night along with her other TV Friends during NBC's now-distant era of "Must See" supremacy. She's back on the same night, on a different network, but once again she's landed on the buzziest show of the moment: ABC's Scandal (10/9c), where she begins a recurring role as Josephine Marcus, a Democratic Congresswoman — and outspoken critic of the Grant administration — who tangles with First Lady Mellie (the awesome Bellamy Young). What drew Kudrow back to network TV? May have something to do with her longtime friendship and working relationship with producing partner (and guest actor Emmy winner) Dan Bucatinsky, who plays Cyrus's excitable partner James on the show. While she's reason enough to tune in, the Pope & Associates subplot also sounds like fun, as they take on as a client a politician notorious for snapping photos of his unmentionables. (Sound familiar?)
The Knave's history is about to be revealed!
On Thursday's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (8/7c, ABC) viewers will get a glimpse into Will's (Michael Socha) past, in which he was a member of Robin Hood's Merry Men. But in the present, the Knave won't be so merry when...
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland took viewers back down the rabbit hole last week, but this isn't the Alice you remember from your childhood.
On the Once spin-off, a grown-up Alice (Sophie Lowe) has traveled back to Wonderland in order to save her true love Cyrus (Peter Gadiot). Standing in her way are the powerful Red Queen (Emma Rigby) and Jafar (Naveen Andrews), who have determined to steal her wishes and crush Alice's dreams of a happy ending. But this Alice won't back down!
