ABC Developing The Lincoln Lawyer Series

The Lincoln Lawyer's next stop: TV.

ABC is adapting the Michael Connelly novel-turned-movie into a drama series, Variety reports. Connelly will co-write the pilot with John Romano, who penned the film.

The movie, which opened in March and got a warm critical but tepid box-office reception (grossing $58 million domestically), starred Matthew McConaughey as criminal defense lawyer Mickey Haller who lands ...

Castle Exclusive First Look: Castle Uses His Poker Game for... Revenge?

Castle Tip No. 37: Never steal another writer's muse.

Castle exclusive: Lie to Me star sets his sights on Beckett

That's a lesson Lie to Me star Brendan Hines will learn the hard way when he guest-stars on the ABC drama as Alex Gordon, a young crime novelist and the protégé of Richard Castle (Nathan FIllion).  Rather than shadow Castle for tips on incorporating real police work into his books, Alex would much rather pick the brain of Detective Beckett (Stana Katic).

Celebrity Watchlist: Writer Michael Connelly's Love of Castle, Justified Is No Mystery

After appearing on Castle twice, it may not be that surprising that The Lincoln Lawyer writer Michael Connelly names the ABC drama as one of his favorite shows. But there's more to his love for the series than a recurring gig.

Got any scoop on Desperate Housewives? — Sara
Poor Paul Young. Both of his wives have killed themselves — not a very good track record! — and now somebody's trying to kill him. Again. This time, the culprit is a bit more sly. I'm hearing he or she will slip some anti-freeze into Paul's dinner. If you've already put together that this will coincide with the return of Felicia Tilman, bravo.

I love that Brendan Hines is going to stir up jealousy on Castle. What else can you tell me? — Monica
While Castle is plenty peeved by the easy rapport his protégé establishes with Beckett, his remedy is to kill the young pup with... read more

At the Movies: Streep Goes from Prada to Mamma

Well, this film seems to be coming together quickly and promisingly. The big-screen take on Broadway's Mamma Mia! that I told you about just yesterday? Variety reports that Meryl Streep is already set to star as the mother of an altar-bound young girl determined to meet her biological dad. Yes, Streep sings, though Mamma Mia! will be her first full-blown musical.... Acclaimed crime novelist Michael Connelly (Love. Him.) and his longtime collaborator Terrill Lee Lankford (I'm sure he's nice, too) are penning the screenplay for a feature remake of the '80s series The Equalizer.... Per the Hollywood Reporter, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener and Michelle Williams are in talks to star in Synecdoche, New York, the directing debut of Oscar-winning scribe Charlie Kaufman. Hoffman will play a theater director, and Keener and Williams his first and second wives. read more
