Behind the Scenes with The Finder

The Finder

It's more than a bit ironic that the set of Fox's new drama series The Finder is, well... so darn hard to find. That's probably because the last place anyone would expect to discover a Florida Keys dive bar would be in the middle of a chilly Los Angeles oil field. But sure enough, in a well-lit clearing at the tail end of a dusty trail of pumping derricks, the cameras are rolling on a night scene that finds stars Geoff Stults, Michael Clarke Duncan and Mercedes Masöhn throwing back beers after wrapping their characters' case of the week.

At nearly 6-foot-4 and with perpetual scruff, rugged 34-year-old Stults looks just like the kind of dude who'd work out of a bar in the middle of nowhere, or — as the watering hole is dubbed — The Ends of the Earth.

Stults plays Walter Sherman, an Iraq War veteran-turned-finder of lost people and things. Offering a tour of the set, he explains, "We have the... read more

Thursday TV in Review: Rotten Rob, Finder, Person of Interest and More

The Finder

There's a deadly serious competition brewing this calendar year regarding a peculiar sort of bragging right: Who has the worst new comedy of 2012? Is it ABC, with the clumsy drag farce Work It? NBC, with the shrill swill of Are You There, Chelsea? (Fox doesn't enter the fray until this weekend with the launch of the negligible animated ...

Panthro's Back! ThunderCats' Kevin Michael Richardson on the Missing Thunderian

ThunderCats

Relax, ThunderCats fans. Panthro isn't dead. "I noticed a little bit of a rumor about that," Kevin Michael Richardson, who voices Panthro in the Cartoon Network remake, tells TVGuide.com. "Someone said that on Facebook, and I was like, 'Really?'

When ThunderCats made its triumphant return to television in July, fans were outraged that Panthro, an integral part of the original '80s-era ThunderCats team, was absent without a satisfactory explanation. In the reboot, Panthro is first reported to be killed in action. Later, a false Panthro is revealed to actually be the evil Mumm-Ra in disguise. After all of this misdirection, it's a relief to know that we'll see the real Panthro back, however briefly, on Friday's episode (8:30/7:30c on Cartoon Network).

The Bones Spin-Off: Will the Show's Fans Like "Finder"?

Emily Deschanel, Geoff Stults, and David Boreanaz, Bones

Make no bones about it: Bones creator Hart Hanson is more than a little nervous about how his show's loyal (and very vocal) audience will receive the characters from his proposed spin-off when they make their debut in Thursday's episode, which is titled "Finder."

"I have warned them about this from the beginning. I said... 'Now, listen — when this goes on the air, there's going to be a loud group of people who hate [these characters]," Hanson tells TVGuide.com with a squealing laugh. "Our record of introducing new characters on Bones — it doesn't go well.

"I expect that there will be a loud group of people who say, 'Hey! What's this peanut butter doing with my chocolate?'" Hanson continues. "The question will be: Do people tune out? It'll be very interesting to see how the quiet majority of Bones fans respond to "Finder" as opposed to the very loud passionate minority. Which I love, but it's sometimes like riding a tiger."

Cougar Town (Monday, 9:30/8:30c, ABC)
Don't ever do that to us again, ABC — by which I mean, depriving us of this blissfully daffy comedy for a long mid-season hiatus. After watching tonight's return episode in a special post-Dancing With the Stars time slot, you'll know what I mean when I say Cougar Town's absence kicked "butt". To celebrate its return, everyone get out their Penny Cans as Bobby and Laurie try to make the silly pastime a thriving business ("The game is dumb, but it is so addictive," admits Laurie), while Jules rethinks her... read more
