First began acting at age 10.
While in high school, he earned acclaim for his portrayal of Macduff's son in a community theater production of Shakespeare's Macbeth.
At age 18, moved to New York and studied at the New Actors Workshop.
In 2004, he auditioned for the lead in 2006's Superman Returns but lost the role; then-director of the film McG later cast him in his first TV acting gig, a recurring role on Fox's The O.C.
