A born couch potato whose earliest memories include Papa Smurf, J.R. Ewing and Flame Beaufort, this New Jersey native dreamed of making a living in the business by which he lived and died. He initially tried acting, turning in a performance as Sandy in a Robert Gordon Elementary School production of Annie that was so convincing, he got fleas. But after graduating college, he began his journalism journey, working as a media-relations coordinator for Entertainment Tonight while freelancing as a writer, eventually snagging an editorial gig at Soaps in Depth. In 1999, TV GUIDE wisely offered him a staff position and before long he had launched his own influential column, Ask Ausiello, renowned throughout the entertainment industry. Realizing his matinee-idol looks were being wasted behind the scenes, Ausiello made occasional small-screen appearances, including critically acclaimed turns on Gilmore Girls, Felicity and notably Veronica Mars as "Blushing Guy." Today, Ausiello's wit and wisdom continue to appear in his magazine column, the Ausiello Report, as well as in his Wednesday-morning perennial Ask Ausiello, and in his insider feature articles.
