Stephen tells Mel about an opportunity to perform as a special guest at Jay Sean's show, but Mel worries about being able to pull everything together in only five days--including auditioning back-up dancers and learning tough choreography! The pressure is on to make sure everything is perfect so she can impress her fans and the music executives in attendance. Also, Mel worries she might be pregnant and fears it will interfere with solo career. Will she have to put her music on hold in order to have a baby? Plus, Angel must see a doctor when she starts having ongoing stomach aches.
Mel makes a deal with The Sugar Factory to sell a signature cupcake and decides she wants to create the recipe herself. Stephen challenges her to a cook-off to see who can bake the better cupcake and partners with Phoenix to get in some real bonding time with his step-daughter. Mel is determined to win, but her lack of cooking skills could prove to be her downfall. Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian asks Mel to design her own shoe for her company ShoeDazzle to benefit a children's charity, and Stephen scratches Mel's car but tries to cover it up by giving it a stylish new paint job.
Mel expands into the fashion industry when she partners with Danish clothing designer Charlotte Sparre to bring their line to the United States--but first they need to convince the stores to carry it! Mel sets up meetings with several high-end boutiques, but when none of them are ready to commit to purchasing the clothes, Mel worries their hard work will be for nothing. Stephen becomes concerned about crime in the neighborhood and beefs up the home security system, but ends up causing more headaches. Angel's nightmares become an issue for the whole family.
Mel does a photo shoot for the gay advocacy group NOH8 and receives an offer to also do a PSA. She is excited to get involved with a cause so close to her heart, but when one of her sponsors objects to her political stance, Mel has to make a tough decision between her business and standing by her beliefs. Also, Mel confronts Stephen about his SkyMall shopping addiction, and Mel questions whether to keep her friend Blair on as her stylist when he starts slacking on the job.
When Mel meets with producer Damon Elliott to hear how her solo single turned out, he suggests they add a hip-hop artist to the track as the perfect finishing touch. Mel wants Ludacris to appear on the song, but first she has to convince him that she's changed her image and style from her days with the Spice Girls. Can she prove to him she's serious about making a musical comeback? Also, Stephen tries to crash Mel's girls' night, and Phoenix is punished after she's caught walking on the roof. Can Mel get through to her daughter before she makes anymore bad decisions?
Viva Las Vegas! Stephen has scheduled a slew of business opportunities for Mel in Las Vegas, but they decide to bring the kids along for the trip in hopes of squeezing in some quality family time together. But from the get-go, Mel has to balance back-to-back meetings with The Sugar Factory and Real Water, a red carpet event at Tao, and a recording session to work on her new album. Overwhelmed by her obligations, Mel becomes upset when she has to cut a recording session short with producer Damon Elliot. Also, family tensions erupt when Phoenix sneaks out of the hotel room to go to Madame Tussauds.
Mel has a whole week off from work, but nothing is going to slow her down. First, her 11-year-old daughter Phoenix is asked out on her first date, and Mel and Stephen tag along as chaperones. But when Phoenix and her date start getting too close, Mel decides to step in and take them home early. Can she come to terms with her little girl growing up? Also, Mel tries to set up her pal Matt Goss with one of Stephen's female friends, but tensions arise when the date goes awry. Finally, Mel sets up a play date with two of Angel's classmates, but she ends up embarrassed in front of the other moms when things don't go quite as planned.
In an attempt to get Stephen to exercise and start eating healthy, Mel signs the family up to run in a 10k race for charity, but they run into some bumps along the way while training. Mel is also asked to star as a virtual fitness model for a brand new video game debuting at E3, but the physical demands prove to be more exhausting than she imagined. And when Mel finds out that the final day of the shoot is the same day as the 10k race, she is worried she won't be able to do both. Also, Mel hires an instructor to teach Angel how to swim.
When Mel's 11-year-old daughter Phoenix graduates from elementary school, she is not only responsible for planning her big party, but must also help her shop for the perfect graduation dress. At the same time, Mel is also asked to co-host "The Daily 10" on E!, and she has to juggle multiple business meetings with Bravada, a workout clothing company that she's thinking of partnering with. With so much on her plate, Mel has little quality time to spend with Stephen, and their therapist insists they make romance a priority. But when they try to revive their weekly date night, Stephen gets frustrated when Mel is constantly distracted by work. Will she be able to find a balance between her personal life and her demanding career--or will she have to choose one over the other?
