NBC has enlisted some of its biggest stars and showrunners to help the network find undiscovered comedy talent. The campaign, dubbed the "NBC Comedy Playground," will ultimately lead to two winners who will then develop original series with an eye towards airing in summer 2015.

NBC headed into midseason last year with plenty of momentum — only to see its fortunes collapse as The Voice took a winter nap and new hit Revolution went on hiatus.
Lesson learned. Not taking this fall's solid ratings for granted, NBC will bring its new smash, The Blacklist, back in January before taking a break for the Olympics. And the Winter Games will provide a ratings boost as well as a broad platform on which to market the network's upcoming series.
On Saturday, Sasheer Zamata will make her debut as Saturday Night Live's newest cast member and we can't wait to see what the Upright Citizens Brigade alum will bring to the sketch series.
Thankfully, the Internet exists and we don't have to. Zamata's website and YouTube channel offer glimpses of what we can expect when she hits the stage — with host and musical guest Drake — this weekend.
Bobby Moynihan, Sasheer Zamata
Lorne Michaels took the first step in fixing Saturday Night Live's diversity problem by hiringSasheer Zamata earlier this week, making the Upright Citizens Brigade alum the first black female cast member on the series since Maya Rudolph left in 2007. Zamata will face extra pressure, thanks to the ongoing controversy surrounding SNL's whitewashed cast, but new co-star Bobby Moynihan has full faith she'll be able to handle it with ease.
"I've seen her perform at UCB and I've never seen a more beautiful, confident person onstage than Sasheer," Moynihan tells TVGuide.com. "I think we're very, very lucky to get her."

Before our tears have even dried, Family Guy might be resurrecting Brian after shockingly killing him off last week.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the dog will return in the Dec. 15episode and will continue to play a role on the show. The logline for the episode, "Christmas Guy," which lists Brian in the cast of characters, reads: "Stewie devises a master plan to get the one and only thing he wants for Christmas."
Maya Rudolph is finally getting the proper spotlight for her talents. The Saturday Night Live vet will headline her own prime-time variety show, Deadline reports.
Kerry Washington will make her Saturday Night Live hosting debut on Nov. 2, NBC announced Wednesday.
Washington, who stars on ABC's Scandal, will be joined by Eminem, who returns for a sixth appearance as musical guest.
