Mega Buzz on Prison Break, Mad Men, Miami & More!

Senior editors Matt Mitovich and Mickey O'Connor answer your questions! E-mail us your own scoopy needs. Is it true that Prison Break's Michael is losing the tattoo? I felt so bad for Wentworth stuck in long-sleeved shirts in the Dallas sun! — ChristineMatt: 'Tis true. As you'll see on Monday night, Scofield books a (truly grueling) date with a dermatologist so as to better safeguard his identity as well as afford him greater wardrobe options (including shirtlessness, the ladyfolk hope). "It was a laborious process putting that [fake tattoo] on," says a relieved Wentworth Miller. "I am looking forward to rolling my sleeves up!" (FYI: I'm one-and-a-half episodes into the new season, and he has yet to do that. Patience!)Is Mad Men planning a Thorn Birds scenario between Peggy and Father Gill? Also, to whom do you think Don sent that book in the first episode? The Beauty of the Hair-and-makeup Trailer

I had forgotten that the hair/makeup trailer is such a crossroads until my cousin Phillip flew back to L.A. with me from Dallas. Raising three daughters — he separated from their mother because he "always had his eyes open for what might be around the corner" — and orphaned at the age of 14, he's a devoted father, saving for his three daughters' futures. He gets up in the morning at 5:30 am, seven days a week, to take a bus to his job at a milk plant. He'd like to buy a house one day where all his girls can have their own rooms — "Even after they're grown they can live with their dad." He stresses education and is ever-protective of his girls — always gives them the practical advice, like, "Don't let the boys talk you out of your panties." Phillip has muscle-bound arms and the sweet smile of a teenager that belies the fact that he is about to hit 40. He takes two weeks off every year but never really goes anywhere. Wanting to do something for himself for a change... read more

Daydream Believer

I've been traveling the last week and a half from L.A. to Dallas to Atlanta and back. Still working off little sleep, I find myself daydreaming. I used to walk and talk in my sleep when I was a child. Would wake up and find myself out of my bed, down the stairs in the living room on my rocking horse, or other places. I've done it a couple of times as an adult, had conversations with friends on the phone that I don't recall and waking up in a different room. I wake up slightly disconnected for the rest of the day. Having roamed while asleep, I then dream while I'm awake. I associate travel with dreaming. Fall into a reverie on trains and planes. When I come to, I'm in another city, another time zone, and sometimes feeling that no time or space has passed at all.I was in Atlanta last Tuesday when CBS aired The Unit's double-header evening of "Sub-Conscious" and "Johnny B Good." "Sub-Conscious," written by Daniel Voll, explores the dreams of unit wife Kim Brown (played by Audrey Marie ... read more

The Unit So if last week had me...

The UnitSo if last week had me leaning towards naming Mack the best character on the show, last night definitely sealed the deal. The guy’s quickly entering Jack Bauer territory: He had like six lines, tops; gave off that maybe-homicidal-maybe-not vibe; and while the rest of the team was in sunny L.A. cakewalking through a kidnapping, he was getting the bejesus beat out of him by some nut job named “Mongoose.” Max Martini could run away with the show if they let him — and, by the way, they should let him, because I’m caring much more about the Mack-Tiffy-Colonel Tom story line than about the military stuff. Does that make me less of a man? Ten bucks says no, but I am a sucker for fresh, original characters, and that’s exactly what Max, Abby Brammell read more

The Unit Woohoo! Took three weeks,...

The UnitWoohoo! Took three weeks, but one of the fellas finally screwed up big. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for absolute perfection in the elite top-secret military force that stands between me and the bad guys — but perfection can get pretty boring, don't you think? Sucks that the screwup had to be Bob — it's always the rookie, of course — but his shooting Mack was definitely what the show needed. Now there's internal danger! Competition! A dry-cleaning bill! I'm stoked they gave Max Martini so much screen time, since Mack is the only really complex character on the show thus far — not to get snarky on Bob, Jonas and the guys, but the words "cookie cutter" come to mind. (Come on, writers. You can do better.) Speaking of Jonas, did anybody else t read more
