Mad Men
Before Mad Men's third season, fans wondered when, as in what year, series creator Matthew Weiner would resume the story.
There was reason for the anticipation: In the Season2 finale, Betty (January Jones) revealed to reformed womanizer Don (Jon Hamm) that she was pregnant, and viewers were curious how that would play out. But more significantly, everyone wondered whether or not Weiner would skip over the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination of President John F. Kennedy. After all, Weiner said more than a few times that he didn't think he had anything to add to the historical landmark.

But Weiner changed his mind. "My attitude about the assassination changed as I got deeper and deeper into the period and after I wrote the first two seasons," he tells TVGuide.com "I thought it was a melodramatic trope the way it had been treated...

Jon Hamm
Viewers will get even more Mad Men when Don Draper & Co resume business at Sterling Cooper this summer. Or, at least they won't get any less.
AMC said Wednesday that new episodes of the Emmy-winning drama — which are (finally!) set to begin airing on Sunday, Aug.16 at 10 pm — will run a few minutes into the 11 o'clock hour. However, the additional minutes are actually to accommodate extra advertising — and ensure that not a moment of drama is lost.
The news that two extra minutes of advertising would be added caused panic among fans afraid of giving up a few scenes of their favorite show. Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner assured fans in an online chat hosted by the Los Angeles Times last week that he ...

Jon Hamm and Matt Weiner on the set of Mad Men
The real-life "suits" in charge of Sterling Cooper have been spending some time in their own boardrooms lately.
As previously reported, Mad Men recently earned a third-season renewal from AMC, prompting contract negotiations between Matthew Weiner, the show's creator, and Lionsgate, the studio that produces the Emmy-winning series. But according to Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood Daily, those negotiations may have hit a speed bump, as Lionsgate has contacted several Hollywood agencies looking for a list of possible show runners to succeed Weiner.
But don't choke on your scotch just yet ...

Jon Hamm by Jim Spellman/ WireImage.com
Jon Hamm, a Golden Globe winner and likely Emmy nominee, isnt taking the critical success of Mad Men for granted. Its phenomenal. Its a wonderful experience. But the swirl that happens around the show exists outside the show. Still, as he quotes his co-star John Slattery, It makes you feel like
youre not crazy. Other people like good stuff too.Critics certainly like good stuff, and AMCs session promoting Mad Mens upcoming second season was easily the biggest lovefest so far in the TCA press tour, currently in its first week devoted to cable presentations. The group laughed when a critic challenged the shows famously tight-lipped creator Matthew Weiner to explain to fans why the mystery surrounding what happened to Peggys illegitimate baby the jaw-dropper of the Season 1 finale remains unresolved by the end of the July 27 season opener. I would say, trust me. I will give you the informat...

Mad Men courtesy Lionsgate
Brilliantly re-creating the style, attitude and social climate of 1960s New York, this breakout hit from last summer is a definite must-own. Following the boardroom (and bedroom) exploits of a group of Madison Avenue advertising execs (led by Golden Globe winner Jon Hamm as creative director Don Draper), Mad Men captivated us with its unflinching approach to an era that reveled in itself long before anyone ever dreamed up being "politically correct." Behind all the sex, booze, and cigarette smoke (and there's plenty to go around) is an intelligent cynicism and downright fine drama. Cleverly packaged to look like a Zippo lighter (like we said, everyone on the show smokes), this set contains all 13 first-season episodes with audio commentary from depending on the episode creator Matthew Weiner, Hamm, John Slattery, Vincent Kartheiser, Elisabeth Moss, January Jones, and more. The "Establishing Mad Men" featurette gives you the standard behind the scenes stuff, and while t...

Vincent Kartheiser (left) on Mad Men
He's a go-getter, a whippersnapper, an up-and-coming advertising exec whose greatest liability may be his ambition. That, or his penchant for illicitly dipping more than his toe into the steno pool. He's Pete Campbell, and he's played winningly on AMC's super-sexy Mad Men (Thursdays at 10 pm/ET) by Vincent Kartheiser. TVGuide.com invited the Angel alum to emerge from the series' smoke-filled set and share his take on his Mad Ave. alter ego.
TVGuide.com: I'm a huge fan of Mad Men, so I've got to hit you with a burning question, since you're the first cast member I have Q&A'd. The omnipresent cigarettes — what percentage of the cast are smokers who had to pick up the habit again, and how many of you hate having to light up for the scenes?

Mad Men
We can't say he didn't warn us. Before his new AMC drama Mad Men premiered last month, former Sopranos executive producer Matthew Weiner said, "There will hopefully be a ‘Holy s--t!' moment in each episode." Three weeks in, he's holding up his end of the deal, as the show reveals the amoral underbelly of perfect-on-the-surface protagonist Don Draper (Jon Hamm).
Set in New York City in 1960, Mad Men (airing Thursdays at 10 pm/ET) slickly re-creates a topflight Madison Avenue advertising agency and its ruthless, ego-driven players. You can practically smell the Brylcreem, whiskey and cigarettes as the bright, sexy characters look sharp and crack wise. But all is not well underneath those sharkskin suit
